I have a quick question. Are yellow lab cichlids aggressive towards other fish. They will be the only cichlid in the tank. here are the othere fish that i want to put in the tank...

6 giant danio
6 albino corys
2 pearl gouramis
1 sunburst platy
1 paradise fish

Well at least those are what I have picked so far. Oh ya the tank is 55 gallons u.s. well thanks for help.

I definately would NOT recommend yellow labs or any other cichlid for a community tank. While labs are considered mildly aggressive for cichlids, they are far too aggressive for community fish. There is a good chance they would harrass your other fish to death, and possibly attack and kill them. Unfortuately, w/african cichlids you can only mix them w/african cichlids.

I agree with dthoffsett. Labs are not aggressive in terms of mbuna cichlids, but it term of other community fish they would be very aggressive. They are only for an african cichlid tank.

yea definitly if your gonna go with a cichlid make sure you stay with cichlids.. they dont mix well with outsiders in a way

 OK I have to finally speak up here....

1 African cichlids CAN be housed with other cichlids other then Africans. the concern is equal level of aggression,

2 The other and IMHO most important reason for not housing labs with your list is different water requirements.

3 as far as "OUTSIDERS" go they can go with a few, just make sure the parameters are very similiar.

Could I put a few labs in with a veriety of chericens? or would they be lunch. Oh ya the tank is going to be heavily planted
