One of my albino Cory's is behaving oddly, i have noticed him lodged in weird positions around the tank and even thought he had died as he was on his back on the bottom but then swam off as if nothing was wrong. He does go up to the surface as normal but then drops back fin first like a stone...
I have just bought a second hand fish tank and was wondering what the best way to clean it out was. I have used an ammonia solution to start just to clean the dirt of it but is there anything better that will kill any disease etc or an easy way to remove algae that seems to be stuck on very...
I am currently struggling with a decision on upgrading from a 63 litre tank to something bigger. As with a lot of people I have been bitten with the the bug and want to expand to a bigger tank. The problem is I cant decide whether to go for a corner tank or a 3ft rectangle one that will fit the...
It's been a while since Brian showed up on the forum. He is still managing to outrun those assassin snails. I have learn't a lot watching Brian. I never knew snails could swim but they can and I mean swim not just float in the current. He shapes his body and knows exactly where he wants to go. I...
Have a look at the post on snail species, sounds like a common pond snail or tadpole snail. The same happened to me when I was cycling the tank. I have two which have grown really big and are really interesting to watch. Some say they are pest but I think there great. I also have lots of little...
us men need our own fridges, I;ve got my own in the garage full of real ale and lager. Gonna try the live foods and see how it goes. Bloodworms seem to be the most popular. Will they be suitable for my fish, corys, neons, guppy and a harlequin
Brian is still with us. He is currently swimming around on the surface in the current from the filter. He does this a lot and then when he gets fed up he goes into his shell and drops to whatever is underneath. He startled a resting cory the other day. He looks really nice under the lights with...
The assassin snail and Brian have just had a tussle, I was fearing the worst for Brian but he has survived. I think he is too big for the assassin and he chickened out.
Brian is top snail in my eyes.
Does anyone know where I can get spare parts for my tetratec ex700 filter. I have broken the impeller shaft with some over vigorous cleaning, rubbing the shaft to hard!!, and it has snapped. Any help or someone with a spare would be great, thanks for looking.
DO NOT PUT THE BLUE PART IN THE WATER OR YOU MAY KILL YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!!
The air goes into the tank via a tube from the little stub sticking out the bottom.
Yes, i think he is, we have two, Killer and Nikita (my missus named that one) Killer is bigger about 15mm shell but the other snail tadpole one is massive compared to the assassins. The big one may be classed as a pest but it is fascinating to watch and it doesn't seem to be damaging the plants...
yeh he does, I think Brian is a bit to big for him and there's enough of the other little ones to keep him interested. Do you think once the little ones have gone then he will turn on Brian?
