Hi,

I've just been given a bundle of fish tank equipment.

I'm embarrassed to say, there's one bit of kit I cannot understand...

It's a Hailea Aco-2201 1.3litre air/minute.

But what I don't get is I can't see any holes for the air to get in!
Only what I presume is an outlet.

So I'm guessing the blue unit is out of the water and air is fed via an air hose...

Or does the whole thing go into the water? I'm guessing not cos the mains wire doesn't look
too waterproof at its entry point into the unit.

Thanks for looking!

Kevin

Thanks Onebto,

I appreciate your time to reply.

Does anyone have any ideas where the air-in is, then?
I have scoured over the unit and I cannot understand where it might be!

Many thanks.

Kevin

I looked at the company website and it is Chinese, with no English counterpart.

DO NOT PUT THE BLUE PART IN THE WATER OR YOU MAY KILL YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!!

The air goes into the tank via a tube from the little stub sticking out the bottom.

Airline plugs into (or rather OVER) the little pipe show in the picture bottom/left.

The air "inlet" will probablly be at the rear.... most likely there will be a small filter pad.

Hi kevinhannan :)

That's definitely an external pump. You have an interesting question though, so I looked at some of the pumps I have. Two brands have small holes on the undersides that look like they are filled with bits of felt. The third one, an Elite, has no opening at all, at least that I can see. Nevertheless, it works well. :D

After dismantling enough pumps (been taking things apart as long as my parents can remember) there are either holes with felt, or enough of a gap designed in where it is assembled to let air flow in.
