Use a sharp knife or scisors ( spelling hehehe:) ) cut the stalk below the node at a 45deg angle, underwater. you can also use the top cutting by sticking it into ur gravel and letting it root ( I have filled my 75+ gallon with just 10 plants this way

maybe keep inexpensive fish like guppies in there to keep the tank cycled

Ijust put an airstone into my hob, thought extra oxgyen would make it more effective, and didn't want to disturd the surface area of the tank 2 much, just a bit noisy though

maybe it was a guppy mixed with a molly, could even call it a pavement special...........lol, that came up because my male guppies are always giving the female molly a bad time :(, dont understand it there are pleanty of fertile female guppies in the tank, suppose guppies like bigger women :)

here here 4 the beer, I have another idea, attach the pump to a dimmer switch , attach that to a greavel cleaner, plug in 1 way to vacuum, and the other way to fill the tank, damn u gonna need 2 pumps, 1 for the (B) and 1 for the vacuum :rofl: :rofl:

hi there, some may disagree with me, but I generally dose the tank with a quarter of the medication on a monthly basis............just believe prevention is better than cure. Hope u don't have any fatalities

why not dwarf gouramis, just make sure they haveolace to hide either that or some platys/guppies. and a couple corys

Hey there I think you are gonna need to get a bigger tank to keep bala sharks, you don't wanna stunk his growth or anything. bala sharks get quite big and like company, so go ahead, spoil ur self and ur fish and get him a bigger home, you know u want to :rolleyes:

1 4ft in lounge, 1 10gal by my PC so the fish can surf with me, waiting for the wife (and money) to set up an mbuna in the kitchen, already got the crushed coral:)

Do a search on google for G.A.R.F. ,I think the URL is www.garf.org...they have a tank size calculator that gives u everything including a cutting list an instructions

yeah u can, just need plug, tranformers (wattage normally print on them), fluoro bulbs and bulb connectors and a bit of aquarium silicone ( be carefull of electrics near water though)...............maybe ask an electrician for some help if u r not sure :thumbs:

I agree, cut below the water, just below the node at a 45 degree angle, if you cut above the water you sometimes get an airbubble at the base where u cut. I just leave my cuttings floating at the surface of the tank till thay grow roots........hope this helps

Are you adding nute/fert, I know with sword you should put root tabs under the roots as they feed from the roots ( I don't though ) I do however add liquid nute to the tank on a weekly basis, can't remember exactly but yellowing new leaves are from a lack of a certain micro nutrient ( search for...

Ihave the same problem, but is only affecting the female gourami, no idea what it is, moved her to my smaller tank and added some salt, hope she will get better its so hard to find females......the male is fine so I dont know what the problem is :-(

Made a C02 diffuser on sunday with a 500ml botle, my internal filter and yeast bottles..........works really well, will post pics when my camera comes back from overseas :D

Tell me about it, here in Africa you battle to find plants..........I have found a wholesaler in the cape but he won't sell to me even if I buy alot, all my tank needs now is ground cover in the front but I can't find any

Or 35W x 2 like mine, C02 is great just keep an eye on pH, make sure you have a one way valve (or a mop....lol), and add some liquid fertilizer because of the light and C02 Good luck, you'll enjoy the differnce with C02

I just vacuum where there are no plants so I don't uproot them, my tank is heavily planted aswell. If you only have 5 plants I would still vacuum as usual and get more plants...................lol.................fish love them
