    Cichlid Relationships

thanks guys, I'm not worried about them pairing up, as long as the big male doesnt try to eat her, I will be happy Although she is comfortable in the LFS, I think I can definitely offer a better environment, plus I feel pretty bad for having to give her away in the first place

    Cichlid Relationships

Hi all, I've got a bit of a sentimental dilemma on my hands... About 18 months ago I bought 5 Keyhole cichlids, as they grew up, 4 of them paired up and one was left on her (female) own. I was able to separate the two pairs so that they would not fight, but the odd one out was being picked on...

    Rescaped My 160L

Just moved house, so have had to re-organise the fish and rescape everything (I love rescaping) anyway, my larger tank isnt quite finished yet, but my 160L is pretty much done I will be letting the java ferns spread out to create a kind of low level jungle with the slates jutting out eventually...

    Black skirt compatibility

Ive had 9 of them for a year now and not had any problems with them nipping or harrasing any of my fish - I kept them with Keyholes, corys, barbs and a plec they are the easiest, least troublesome fish Ive ever kept, I've not kept them with guppies though

Will Java Moss Attach Itself To Slate?

i realise i'll have to tie it down to begin with, but will it eventually latch on like it does with driftwood?

Will Java Moss Attach Itself To Slate?

Has anyone had success doing this? I've got an abundance of java moss and a side of my aquarium which i feel looks too barren I want to tie the moss down to the slate and let it spread, I know it works on wood but would it work on slate?

    My Tank Pictures..

nice looking healthy tank! my suggesting would be to add some elevations and depressions in the sand, it makes it look much more natural - then put the rocks and stuff back ontop

    Testing Out My First Dslr

ah thanks mate :D yeah I dont believe in zooms, why pay more for lower image quality I use a 50mm, 105mm macro and a 200mm - all primes you always get a better native aperture with primes too :)

    Keyholes Are Spawning!

I've managed to *accidentally* isolate a breeding pair of Keyhole Cichlids whilst trying to curb aggression in my larger tank. This morning I found a large clutch of eggs (150-200, 3/4 of which are white, the rest are a dull grey/brown) The two keyholes are displaying the spawning behaviour -...

    Keyhole Cichlids - Blackpool

sorry to backtrack, but this morning I have found a batch of Cichlids eggs in one of my tanks! this must mean that atleast one of the ones I thought were males, is actually a female all have the elongated dorsal fin, and the long rectangular bodyshape, so I'm baffled In light of this I'm going...

    Keyhole Cichlids - Blackpool

Hi all, I've got a bit of a problem, I bought 5 Keyholes 6 months ago and was told that there were 2 males and 3 females (on inspection I concluded the same) 6 months later, it is clear that they are all males, I have seperated the most aggressive/conflicting ones, but I only have 2 tanks I fear...

My Amazon Bio Tope Getting Started

cool cool, yeah I was actually asking Mr Discus lol :) won't the Dollars end up dwarfing everything? I think if I ever ended up keeping Dollars they'd have to either be in a massive tank with much larger fish or be the centrepiece themselves
