This is an Aqua Essentials 10x8x8" Opti-white Nano tank.

After 3 hours of tidying up the silicone (that was very very messy) with a surgeons knife (mind the fingers) I think its looks pretty good, I am not sure yet what to do with it and if I am going to use the Naturesoil or not.

Some photos to start off the journal haha

I am using an hangon filter that I purchased from Living waters and an 11w lamp that I got cheaply at Ikea.

This is the light unit (11w): http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/30018560

and what it looked like on the day of set-up:

Thanks for looking :)

Well a few weeks later and a lot of mosses later, here is how the tank is looking:

Few days ago during feeding time and before shipping out some of the reder shrimp:

Few shots today:

Thanks for looking :)

Wow, that looks superb. I don't know what it is but I find the very small tanks more fascinating (when done properly and humanely, obviously!) than the larger tanks, it has that Bonsai minature world thing about it. The plants look great, smashing photos of the shrimp too.. :good:

Many thanks guys :)

you got all that plant growth from an ikea lamp!?
Yep, its a little yellow on the eye so might replace the bulb with something more white, but there are only mosses and a small fern in the tank and they are not fussy about light, I only dose TPN+ once a week and no water changes, just top up two litres that evaporate every week.
