Hi all, I've got a bit of a problem, I bought 5 Keyholes 6 months ago and was told that there were 2 males and 3 females (on inspection I concluded the same)
6 months later, it is clear that they are all males, I have seperated the most aggressive/conflicting ones, but I only have 2 tanks
I fear as they get older and larger they will fight more and stress each other out.
I want to keep the two largest ones and give away the three smaller ones - not necessarily to the same person.
All are very healthy and have been kept in excellent conditions.
None have had any diseases in the time I have kept them.
The ones I am giving away are around 3 inches in length, they are all males.
I don't want to have to give them back to the shop as the conditions arent great there and I was told they were waiting 3 months before I bought them.

Please let me know if you're interested. You can have all three or just one, anything will help my situation.

here are some shots of the largest one, they all look the same up close.

hey there, this is my first post on here, gonna goand introduce myself tomoz.

i live in warrington, and could help with the re-homing of up to 3 of your keyholes. would it be possible for a phone chat and a possible meet up at the 'tickled trout' for the exchange?

Hi mate,

You wouldnt happen to have any trips down to Manchester planned would you? If so, I'd take them off your hands...

It's not a world away, could we meet half way for an exchange?
how many would you be interested in taking? - bearing in mind they will start fighting each other eventually if you keep them in one tank
some of them I have already needed to separate

just been to view another tank, unfortunatly the petrol filler neck on my car has now broken, discoveed when i tipped £5 worth of petrol all over the forcourt floor.
so thats the end of my purchasing til i have had it fixed, sorry mark.

mick.

Could you suggest a suitable meeting point? Will then let you know if i can make it. Cheers

does chorley sound fair? Around J8 on the M61

if we can do the exchange on thursday or friday then all's well, if not it will have to wait until after the 19th of April

how many did you want to take? just bearing in mind that you won't be able to keep any of them in the same tank

cheers, Mark

sorry to backtrack, but this morning I have found a batch of Cichlids eggs in one of my tanks!
this must mean that atleast one of the ones I thought were males, is actually a female
all have the elongated dorsal fin, and the long rectangular bodyshape, so I'm baffled
In light of this I'm going to be hanging on to them for the time being - I've seperated them in such a way that they arent fighting much anymore
I will post here again if I end up with hundreds of fry (possibly quite soon!)
