What size is his tank, it looks very much on the small side??

My boys only really bubble nest if there are girls they can see ( my girls tank is next to the boys tank). I did have one who bubblenested all the time but most of mine very rarely blow any. From what you've said he sounds really happy, so dont worry about the bubbles, he'll do it when he's ready x

Ive used hikari betta pelleta, atisons betta pellets, hikari micro pellets and then bloodworm a couple times a week, oh and a deshelled cooked pea once a week. They will eat other live foods but ive always stuck with the bloodworm x

Anything but blue and red, my little boy albert is yellow and black x

Quick update, the babies are doing well, there are 5 that are a lot bigger than the rest. Ive seen a couple now that look like they're going to have their mums colouring. More pics to come soon x

I usually feed them pellets everyday except sundays when they get nothing (fast day), also they get live or frozen bloodworm a couple of times a week and 1/2 a pea once a week x

Finally one of the babies has decided it quite likes the camera and did some posing! :D Here we go: They are swimming around so fast now, it's really hard to get any pictures of the others, as soon as they see the camera they're off x :rolleyes:

Well he seems to be better this morning, he seems a lot more interested in his new decor! Thanks for the advice. He has live bloodworm a couple times a week and pellets everyday, i'll keep the garlic juice in mind! He does live in a divided tank but you can't see through the dividers, i may swap...

I don't know what's up with cooper, surely he can't still be sulking over the babies?? He just keeps either laying on the bottom or floating at the top of the water staring blankly. He still swims now and then but just seems really down, i've changed his tank around, water is fine, he's gone off...

I can see a lot of problems with the way you were keeping and breeding bettas first time round. I think before you get anymore you need to do a lot more research. Try loking at netty's website, betta paradise (there is a link in her signature) and thebettalady as well, they both give really good...

I can't see any colour or shine yet, but it's quite hard to tell as the water is tea coloured from the blackwater and ive only got a desk lamp for lighting and it's not the best lighting in the world! My husband is using my grow out tank at the mo for his endler fry so im not very happy, ive...

The trouble is by using parent fish with really long fins, the babies will in turn have even longer fins which will in the end cause the fish to have swimming problems due to too much finnage. It would be nice to have fancier females however it is not fair to the fish and also makes the breeders...

Im just waiting to move house, hopefully in the next few weeks, the new place has a brick shed (breeding room!) and a conservatory (fish room!!) and loads of other places i can convince hubby to put more tanks lol

Update on the babies, apart from getting bigger ther's not much change. They are enjoying their bbs and walter worms. Their fins are developing well now. Anyway here's some pics i took this morning before cleaning their tank, i would do pics after the clean but they all retreat into the moss lol x

I don't know whether it's common but i have a female ct with long fins, if she wasn't full of eggs i'd swear she was a young male!
