I've been posting on emelees topic about babies and now that ive managed to get some pics of the little buggars i thought i would start my own thread. The dad is cooper who is a copper yellow ct and mum is a cream/purple ct. Anyway here are the babies, they will be 2 weeks old on thursday:

Sorry about the quality, will be investing in a better camera soon!! They are still so tiny but they are so cute to watch, can't wait for them to grow x

Very cute babies....well done. They will be gorgeous when they are bigger :good:

I would syphon up some of the debris on the bottom though. It will stop the water from poluting too quickly and make it easier for the fry to find the food on the bottom of the tank.

I have, done a big clear out this morning!!! Took ages trying to avoid sucking up the babies, thank god for clear plastic cups lol

awwww bless them , i cant wait to have some betta wrigglers
honey gouramis are breeding again at the mo though

Yah!! Pictures for me!!

They look wonderful! How large is your biggest baby? Some of mine seem almost twice the size of others! Isn't it cute to watch them look around and scavenge for food!

Oh, what I do is take a $4 magnifying glass from Wal-Mart (or wherever sells stuff like that around you) and keep the 4x magnification up against my camera lens and search until I find the babies to snap the pictures. Then you don't have to get a better camera (mine is pretty crappy but you can get close up with the extra magnification).

Good luck and keep us updated!!!

The joys of syphoning  I'm always terrified that I'm going to tip babies down the sink, so I use the clear cups aswell......it's much easier to spot them and suck them out again. Plus they are so curious and are always following the syphon around the bottom. It's no wonder some get sucked up lol

Quick update on the babies, just done a water change. They are getting bigger everyday! Their eyes have changed, they were black with orange but the orange is now turning yellow. Most of them are swimming really well and they are so nosey when i put the clean water back in, a few try and play in the gentle current!! Will try and get some more pics in the next few days x

Ahh, I love it when they go to investigate anything new!! I can't believe they already have their little betta personalities!

Ugh, that reminds me that I need to try and do a water change too! Glad they're are doing well and you know I love seeing pictures!!

How lucky is this, i moved the fry to a slightly smaller tank the other day as they were stuggling in the spawning tank. I had to put the heater from the spawning tank into the fry tank as i didn't have a spare. So for a few days now the spawning tank has been sat getting colder, anyway today as i do on most days had a quick look in the spawning tank just in case and there looking at me was a lone baby that i must have missed. I can't believe it has survived as the water it was in is only room temperature!! So now it is in with it's brothers and sisters swimming happily. I am now glad it's been raining as ive had the tumble dryer going which has kept the kitchen warmer than usual!!!

Ahhh! I'm so glad you found the little trooper! Glad he was reunited with his siblings!! Hope they're all doing well after their move.

Update on the babies, apart from getting bigger ther's not much change. They are enjoying their bbs and walter worms. Their fins are developing well now. Anyway here's some pics i took this morning before cleaning their tank, i would do pics after the clean but they all retreat into the moss lol x
