    Stock List....

My personal favorite type of gourami are sparkling gourami's, which I think in your tank would be perfect. They are hardy, kind of shy but have a ton of personality, very pretty, and just overall amazing fish. :good:

    Stock List....

Depends on the cichlid type that your looking at. Some type of cichlids are very aggressive and some are pretty peaceful. Just got to know what type your getting first.

    Guppies

Fish can adjust to the ph, and that's actually an optimal ph measurement for an tank so don;t worry about the ph. :good: Also, I personally never follow the 1" per gallon rule, because if it was a correct rule, than I could put a 10" fish in a 10 gallon tank. Just doesn't seem correct to me, but...

    Mollies

Is she starting to get really big and kinds square-shaped? Does she have a dark blue and black spot near her anus? It sounds like she is ready to give birth, so I would separate her soon. :good:

    Amano Shrimps...

If you go down to the bottom right hand corner, or top right hand corner of the page, you will see there is an button that says, "post new topic", click that and you will be able to create your own thread. :good: Also, I have never seen my amano shrimp jump out, and mine still hide behind this...

Moved Up To A 20 Gallon Tank!

So your tank is still cycling correct? If it is, do not add any more danios or any more living things for that matter. Leave the tank lights on for around 10-12 hours a day, you can get a timer if needed. It is best to feed fish on a regular basis. It's also good to check and make sure all of...

Should I Just Put This Fish Out Of Her Misery?

i would do a large water change just to be sure. It couldn't hurt, and I have had experiences where a large water change has showed that it helps remove the parasite from the water, especially compared to no water change. Just my 2 cents(I love saying that! :good: .)

    Dwarf Puffer Tank Mates?

The pygmy cories would be killed unfortunately. i don;t recommend anything as an tankmate for a dp personally. But oto's tend to be the best option. Anything else is a risk.

    Sparkling Gourami's

Wow, first thread! Ok, I just recently bought 3 sparkling gouramis, and it was kind of an impulse buy.... Fortunately, I was interested in them a while ago, so I do know some things about them. What I need to know mostly, is traits of behaviour, and anything specific I should know about them or...

    What Fish With Bettas

I find that every betta has it's own personality. So it really just depends on the betta itself, like I had one that would only go with neon tetras, and I had another that wouldn't accept any other living thing in it's tank. -_-

    Bright Green Algae?

My suggestion would be to get a timer for your lights, and keep them on for maybe 10-12 hours a day. You should see an improvement in algae control. And if not, then you can blame your parents for leaving the lights on for 2 days. :shout:

    Brown Algae

The brown algae you are describing sounds like brown beard algae. Not many fish or shrimp will eat it, and the ones that do will eat little of it. Would you happen to know your wpg(watts per gallon)? I think 14 hours is too long, but we need to know your wpg to determine that. :good:

    Bright Green Algae?

Ok, stop adding the algae remover stuff as it will just make your fish sick and can also kill any live plants. There are many different ways to get rid of algae, and many different reason it can show up. If I may ask, is your tank planted? What is your wpg? Do you add any fertilizers to your...

    Dwarf Underwater Frogs

I think Dwarf underwater frogs are the same as African dwarf frogs. If they are, then you should be able to put 2-3 in your 5 gallon. Their very comical little guys, and actually do need access to the surface for air every now and again.

    100 Us Gallon Tank

You may want to increase your tetra school up to 6, because they love to school. :good: Just my two cents.

Water Outlet Gaurd (check Out Op)

I have found that putting a piece of pantyhose, or sometimes a non-chemically contacted or altered sponge is good to cover up the slots on the filter intake. But the current for the input and output are lowered by doing this.

    Hatching/bredding Fish

You can tell if a fish is pregnant by whether they have a gravid spot or not. A gravid spot is pretty much a dark blue/black spot or area on the bottom of your fishes stomach. Also, Platy's are live bearers, as in they give birth to live, swimming fry. My suggestion is to get a fry tank to put...

    Update

You shouldn't have any ammonia or nitrite when your filter is done cycling, and the ideal nitrate is below 5ppm. So I would do a ton of water changes to get in control, and that's really all you can do right now I guess. Sorry if this sounds a bit mean, I'm just trying to put my 2 cents in...

A Very Shy Male Pearl Gourami

Araura, I actually find that adding more hiding spots and plants helps break a fishes shyness. After I put in more plants into my 29 gallon, my pygmy cories started coming out alot and playing, when they used to just hide behind the plants all day. Oh well, either way, as long as your fish...

    Tiger Platys

If I may ask, are those platy's dyed? I'm just wondering because the stripes sure do look like they were dyed into the fish.

    Guppy Wound Or Infected

I would put him in a separate quarantine tank and treat him with some meds. Also, I would do a major 75% water change, or alot of small water changes(someone else can chime-in and say which is better,) in the main tank. And you are going to want to keep a VERY close eye on all of the other fish...

    Heya!

Hey! I'm TayTay, if anyone here is from Badman's or Bowhead's, I'm also known as Taylor, TayTay is just a nickname. Anyways, I have been in the hobby for a while, I started my first "serious" tank when I was about 10 and now all I have is my lonely 29 gallon freshwater set-up. Judging just by...
