well I guess that depends on when you start treating it. I usually saw results within a week. Also depending on how much salt you add. but what do I know, Ive only been keeping fish for about 3 months :X

I too have the small white worms........I was just going to post, till I saw this thread. I've battled ich twice now and each time I just used a little bit of salt and heat, and it seems to work wonders.

I think the long tail rosey was to blame.....he was the most aggresive in the tank.......I think I may try out an amano, or tiger.....see if it becomes another tasty snack

Ok, I gave back the long fin rosey barb, he was pretty mean......and grows to 5" or so.....And ya, my gourami is awesome!! I've never ever seen him be aggressive. setup NOW is: -1 Flame Gourami -1 Crowntail -1 Golden rosey<peaceful so far -3 glowlight tetras -1 ADF 24 watts flourescent light...

ya im sure its dead........fish were still pickin at it........and there was a leg here and there....they dont molt legs..... I think I might try 1, maybe he'll have some better luck.......I returned the rosey barb who i think the culprit was.....and replaced with 3 glowlights......much more...

Well I tried to keep a single ghost shrimp in with a betta, flame gourami, adf, and 2 barbs............to say the least it didnt work......... 10 gallon tank medium planted, bog wood, and a couple decors and small rocks. Everything seemd great for the 1st week, shrimp was healthy and prego...

So what would you reccomend I do? more light...or less, I could add 15 watts or take off 9.... The aluminum plant seems to be doing better than the wisteria, which is opposite of what the lfs said....?

well, its a small plastic tank, prolly 1 gallonish that was given to me with the betta in it for xmas. reccomendations for stocking yet?........I mean 335 hits.......or am I reading it wrong?

ok, update, I gave my candy barb to my dad since he was doing most of the fin nipping. Question is what would you folks reccomend I do now? list now is 1x long fin rosey barb 1x golden rosey 1x flame gourami 1xmale crowntail 1xafrican dwarf frog this 10 gallon is all I have for now.......and...

well I have a 15 watt in the hood and a 9 watt desk lamp, too much light? or not enough....I could go buy another 15 watt for the hood......or shut the deck lamp off......and how do I get that phosphate in the water?

No, its like theres a hole that starts in the middle of the leaf, then its like dying from the middle out, brown around the hole........but they are growing quite fast.

Well im in an apartment with limited space, what size tank would you recommend? At walmart they had a 40 gallon square tank with oak stand for $250(canadian) its high and not long(perfect square) or another place has a 33 gallon long for $170 yet another place has a 55 gallon for around $300...
