I once read that you can train koi carp to get used to you and eventually feed from your fingers .Its a long process and you need to sit near the pond and gradually get closer etc. I would assume you could addopt the same process with your fish . Maybe you need to spend a little more time in...

Defenatly a strange quandry this one. Obviously it has come into the tank as an egg via a plant or some other decor/substrate. Keep us all posted on this one mate , lets see what becomes of the little ET. Put a phone in the tank just in case of emergencies. :lol:

If you really needed to get rid of the convict , and you didnt have time for a private sale , then i guess it was not to be sniffed at . I dont know what price large pink convicts go for , but i suppose you have to consider how long you might have had to keep hold of him before being able to...

I love the gouramis.. they are well lush. I would like to have some myself but not sure if i could look after them properly. being new at this , maybe one day when i get a bit more experienced. nice tank too btw.

Did you swap the heaters around , or are you waiting untill you can afford a bigger wattage for your tank. Personally i do think the 50W is too small for that size tank. I have a 213litre (95Lx45Wx50H cm) tank and use a 200W heater, does the job very well. any more updates as yet ...

Exactly m8... we all have to start somewhere... no point in getting nice expensive fish if your just starting out , just in case of unexpected disasters. lets face it , starting out can come with problems to us all. i have a fairly big tank 213litre and only have 2 mollies and several fry at...

I have a pair of mollies, they have had fry and after the first initial chasing which lasted all but of a day they are all swimming about happily doing there thing and not being bothered by the adults at all. Occasionally they just give a quick chase and thats that , not like when fish are...

Yea , just got the 2 mollies in the tanks so far. Its a 213litre tank , so they have loads of room at the mo. Bless em , thay are little cuties.

I read somewhere that this gravid spot was due to the eyes forming in the fry inside the mother.. is this true or is it a wives tail. I would say they are pregnant, and i wish you happy joys.... i hope you got enough cigars to cover it... :lol:

Just wanted to share this with you guys because i am really chuffed , and its great. I bought a pair of sailfin mollies on thursday just gone , and a couple of days later i found a fry in the tank with them , snuggled away up by the heater and filter. Then a while later i found a couple more...

I would have thought it would eventually rise to the room temp , but depending on the size of tank it could take a while to get there. Also drops in temp at night would affect it dramatically too. As king kenny said .. put a bucket of water in the romm and see what occurs. :huh:

Thats a good question really. I suppose you could do that with your ponds etc , but not sure about warm water tanks. Maybe if you warm the water it might change the chemical make up of the water itself . I would have thought if it was possible then someone would have already come up with the...
