Just wanted to share this with you guys because i am really chuffed , and its great.
I bought a pair of sailfin mollies on thursday just gone , and a couple of days later i found a fry in the tank with them , snuggled away up by the heater and filter. Then a while later i found a couple more.
Since then we (my wife and me) have found several more mulling about the tank doing there little fry thing.
They did hide to begin with and whenever they revealed themselves for a light snack they were chased by the mother and they had to do there little dance for hidy holes.
Anyways , yesterday they have ventured out more and the two adults dont really take any notice anymore , they sometimes have a quick scoot towards them but nothing major.
Just popped a few frozen bloodworms into the tank for them and the little uns came out in force for a nosh. They have stayed out and about now since and they are not being hassled at all. Its a great feeling watching them shimmy there way round , exploring there vast wilderness.
Is it usual for the adults to ignore them or am i just lucky .
They are still tiny , only a few days old really so i would have thought they would still be on the menu .
I have managed to get a pretty good shot of a couple of them , after about half hour of trying i might add, so here they are...
