    Betta Breathing Blood

Man, if you wanna see a lot of food coming out of fish's gills, watch Oscars eat something that they don't like the taste of. They are a MESS when they chew up the food, and spit it back out of their mouth and gills. As for your betta, I'm glad to hear that he/she is ok. :) ~Taylor~

    Any thoughts on sweetcorn???

When I feed my small community tank, I cut the corn into small pieces. Even with my larger fish I try to peel the skin off of the corn kernal, because that tough lining on the corn just doesn't seem like it could be easy for the fish to digest... ~Taylor~

    bags of live food

Your fish food comes with liquid in the bag? What kind of fish food is this? If it is just dry betta food in a package, then you can freeze the extra, but I'm not sure what kind of betta food you are talking about when you indicate that it comes with liquid.. ~Taylor~

Two of the best online places I STRONGLY consider is: 1. That Fish Place in Pennsylvania>products: www.thatfishplace.com>livestock:livefishdelivery.com 2. Drs. Foster & Smith in Wisconsin>products:drsfostersmith.com>livestock:liveaquaria.com I hope that that helps you out!! Good luck, and let...

    Overstocked, understocked or just right?

I wish I had a digital camera, but my 130 gallon aquarium has nothing in it but a plecostomus (cycling) and I just vacuumed the tank out 2 days ago. Man, you should see it now. He's got almost the whole glass floor covered in feces. ~Taylor~

    Got my 55 gal.!

Congratulations on your new tank!! The best part about getting a new tank is decorating it, and feeling the thrill when you let the first fish go in it, even if they are just the feeders used for cycling. :) ~Taylor~

    Just wonderin'...

I know they are cheap!!! No, I haven't boughten any aquariums from them, but I am also a member at piranha-fury.com under the same username, and many people there LOVE that site, and they always reccomend it to newbies, so I thought that I'd refer it to you. Oh, you might want to check the...

    Ideas for a new tank?

You seem to like South American cichlids or South American fish. Maybe you can do a mixed South American cichlid tank, with the understanding that you'll have to do some research on each fish you plan on keeping together, for agression, potential size, etc. You can have a 1 species tank, or a...

    white spots

    new stuff

Craps are pretty much scavengers in the wild, but seeing that they aren't in the wild when they are in your aquarium, depending on the species of crab, they will most likely look at your fishies as a tempting treat, therefore, you should feed them crab food from your local fish store, and they...

    Sand Or Gravel?

All depends in the type of fish you want, because they are from all over the world, thus being from many different kinds of lakes and rivers. Some are sandier, some are rockier. It invlolves research to decide what you want, based on the fish you plan on getting. ~Taylor~

    silver molly

I'd have to agree with the other members. I am sorry to hear that. I have had this problem with a sailfin molly before. I treated her with an dypholtical medication that I purchased from my local fish store. She did good, and just as I thought that she was gonna make it, she up and died...

One of thirteen refuses to go to school.

Some fish are just loners. That's all I can say. It's their choice to stay away from the others if they want to. I wouldn't worry about it too much. ;) ~Taylor~

Lighting for a 135 Gal for plants

It's gonna cost ya!! Why not just go with synthetic (artificial) plants? They are making the so real looking now, especially the silk ones. Best of all, they are cheap, and easy to take care of. I've never messed around with live plants. It's all what you wanna do, just making a suggestion...

    Petrified Wood

I don't think that it will effect your ph, however, I am concerned about the weight of it. You said that it was about the size of a bowling ball, so it probably weighs quite a bit. Does the bottom of your tank(i.e the glass) have support, so the stone doesn't go crashing through? ~Taylor~

    Oscar Pond…

Sorry to hear about the let-down. But, you are right. You aren't gonna get a little taste of the honey now until your done. Then after that you'll have the whole beehive. Just a little something to give you motiviation, but you don't need it, you already know how great it's gonna be, and...

cycling 20 gallon tank with 2 angelfish

I'd also like to add that if you want to buy bio-spira, plan on paying top dollar for it. I know a guy that paid 20 bucks for a bottle of it. I'm not sure how large the bottle was, but that seems like a lot of money to me. Patience can pay off!!! ~Taylor~

cycling 20 gallon tank with 2 angelfish

Yeah, but aren't angels slow growers? In my experience with them they have always grown slow, so therefore, when you do get your tank cycled, you may want to keep a few for a little while. ~Taylor~

    Peas

I feed whole cooked shelled green peas to my Tiger Oscar. He absolutely loves them, but they are only a treat. I shouldn't say he LOVES them, because he eats almost everything  ~Taylor~

    Oscar Habits

Nope unforunately it's not my fish, but that would be friggin awesome if it was. I just found it in google search, and I love Albino Tiger Oscars, they are my favorite fish. ~Taylor~

    Oscar Pond…

I've also heard to help your aquarium cycle faster, is to dangle a piece of bloody steak or other red meat on s tring for about 10 minutes every few days, because it puts the needed bacteria in the water. I've never tried it though. ~Taylor~
