Decided to do a update as it has been a while:
They are growing really well now. Some aggression is starting to show and they are starting to flare with their gills! Time for a bigger tank soon! :hyper:

I would guess that the fish would last quite sometime in the tank with the oxygen they have in the water, Unless it was a terrible fire and the heat or falling objects smashed the tank.

If you Black out the tank(cover with towels), so that its very dark inside and leave it for 4 days, without lighting.
Also reduce your lighting to about 6 hours.
hope that helps,
Westwood
Thanks for the comment!
I think I will attempt to upgrade the lighting using the same Led lighting you have on your Pico! Great topic by the way! I was thinking of going for 15watts does this sound good to you? Hope fully I can wire the things!
I may upgrade the filter to the All Pond...
When I set up my fry tank I add a tiny bit of media when I add the fry, then when they grow add more and more media, as if you add the lot of media straight away most of it dies back, as the fry have such a small bio load, :good:

Hi all,
After watching the following video I got some inspiration to spice up my 30l a lot.
 (I was dribbling at this video)
I have the Fluval Flora(30l), which is incredibly similar to those tanks in the video. I want to go for a very high tech setup, and could do with some advice and...
Agreed, I like all angelfish, their shape is just amazing, but Altums are definitely my favourite!
I hope to one day have a 5 foot tank with Altums and a load of Cardinals

Congratulations! Thorichthys are great parents, I love watching my Firemouths!Looks like alot of eggs there!
Keep us updated on their progress! But don't hope too much as if this is their first spawn, they will often get things wrong.

Hi guys, sorry for the delay, been busy and not had time to come on. Consequently I haven't done as many water changes on the fry so their growth is a little slowed. But here they are:
Fist a video:
And a few photos:
Thanks for looking,
Westwood
Firemouths are fairly aggressive fish, But their bark is much, much bigger than their bite! I should say when the GT gets bigger they will become more wary

Hi, They are doing really well! The female is fine, but she likes to hide allot. :S I only see her when they are breeding or she feels like flirting with him. Will try to get a picture of her soon.
My fry are growing at a steady rate and the biggest is probably 15mm and really starting to...
They may be ok. But if you have any plants in your other tank, these could hold tiny little critters that the fry can feed from. Just put the plants in with the fry. :good:
