Yes, I second the comments about the neons & Cory. Try another LFS, one will take them, even if they don't pay you for them. Or bring them up to Bolton & I'll put them in my tank.

OK, this is confusing. Are we saying the 1000 is of a poorer quality to the 1400 and 2000? Or are we saying all the APS stuff isn't great quality compared to other makes? I'm thinking of the 1400 (or possibly 1000) for a 200 litre tank as an addition to the Fluval internal that came with the...

Does no-one rate the All Pond ones linked in the 1st post? They are cheaper, have a higher capacity and I like the idea of the UV sterilizer. Ain't they any good or does no-one have experience of them?

Use the 2 larger tanks as your main tanks & keep the 2' one as a nursery and quarantine tank.

Females do also fight but if they have been in the same tank all their lives they should be fine. I've had a problem when I removed one for awhile and when I returned her to the main tank, all the others flared up at her. Also are you sure you don't have young males?

Only 3 or 4 males in a 220 ltr tank then.

Feeding them First Bites 3-4 times a day. Nothing is being blown into the tank but the new tank their are in is well away from the door & litter tray now. The filter is quite small but it did give a strong water flow. If anything, too strong. Previously I waited a month or so before turning it...

Well the deaths continued :( and that White stuff floating on the water was getting worse so I've transferred them from the nursery tank to the quarantee tank. Only 13 were still alive and 1 of those was so close to death I didn't transfer her. Hopefully they'll do much better in the new tank.

I'd stick with Killifish or Liverbearers, particularly Guppies, Endlers and small Platies. All are colorful too and easy to keep. A bonus as your tank will be more difficult to maintain then a larger one. The Shrimps and Snail will be nice additions which won't effect your capacity much.

I'd sell the Clown Loaches as your tank is too small for them and then replace them with more Neon Tetra's and Cory's as they are shoaling fish and need to be in a bigger group. Especially important for the single Panda & Pepper Cories. Overall though you do have a lot of fish for that size of tank.

Ok, thanks. Is it a good idea to pour the new water straight onto the filter, so it gets water a bit earlier? The water is dechlorinated & at the same temperature as the tank water. Would it still harm the bacteria?

I've a couple of tanks where the filter will stop functioning once the water level drops down to a certain level during a water change. It might be another 30 mins before I've topped the water back up enough for the filters to start working again. In the Juwel tank the filter is still covered...

I'm not sure what you should do with it but if like the real thing, its bigger INSIDE then outside then I'm sure fish will be happy to have it in their tank. I'd be worried that I wouldn't see them again as they might go travelling in space-time. :look:

OK, my oldest Swordtail fry are beginning to show signs of their Swords but I was wondering if the males will start fighting each other? I ask because when I bought the parents I had 2 males & 1 female. 1 male killed the other and he's now in the same tank as the maturing fry. Is it likely...

Hi All I'm on my 3rd batch of Swordtail fry after my 1st 2 bathes all survived with no casualties at all. The batch sizes were only 9 and 2 though as I wasn't able to fish the mother out sooner. Anyway in my 3rd batch I had about 20 fry and after the week or so, everything was fine. However...

I have my fry with no gravel/sand in the bottom, so that makes it easier. I siphon my water into a clear bowl and then double check nothing is in there before I pour it down the drain. Worked so far.

Thanks, I have put her in a breeding trap now and will only feed her a few flakes a day and see what happens. The reason why I thought it wouldn't be overfeeding though is because the bump is only on 1 side. A fishes stomach isn't to 1 side, is it?

Not sure about Male Betta but I have Endlers & female Betta together and they are fine.

Best I could do. Could it just be over-feeding. I think maybe she is nicking the pellets I put in there for the loaches.

That's a cool idea. I'd certainly give it a try if it wasn't for the UK shipping costs. Could the same happen with a well placed filter? My Clown Loaches rest on top of my filter for the same effect.
