i dont think a pair of fully grown chocs would like it in a 4x2x2, infact its probably too small for 1 fully grown choc..... texas cichlids are central american and probably way too tough for the likes of oscars and chocs tbh. i tried 2 in with my s. american fish and they battered them...

i would say the first one..... easier to set up and do maintenance on etc and with shorter pipework you will get better performance from the filters :good:

i wouldnt be too off put by th eprice as the shop its at had it taken in to them and dont know what it is...... im not 100% but im going with false although it does have quite a bit of patterning under that dark colour for a false.... :unsure:

Wills I've just been looking on the net and I think it is a false Jaguar catfish. Maybe even a cross breed as it does have some patterning..... Not the real deal so its not for me. Lloyd be carefull if looking for more than 1 of these as they will fight each other and are very territorial...

pm Neil what he cant tell you isnt worth knowing tbh. all i can say about these fish is that there are many that require brackish conditions even though sold as freshwater fish. they are not very competetive eaters so you have to stock very carefully around them. so be sure to research what...

cichlasoma ornatum are a very close fish to festae. stunning colouration when bigger and happy that cant be matched. the only thing is they are harder to find than festaes.....

i dont even think that the eggs will come of anything tbh. when i had amano shrimp the females would be full of eggs but nothing ever happened. if they did hatch then yes given the chance any fish would have a nice feast on them.

were the gills always that red? if so they lok like blushing angels to me so nothing to worry about there. the red veins im not sure about though... maybe just do plenty of good water changes and feed well for a while to see if they improve at all. i wouldnt chuck meds in unless your 100%

yes it will help and look much better. the only down side to owning plecs of any kind is that if they are well fed they poop none stop :sick: use the size of the fish as a boiload factor. all your fish arent going to get much over 2 inches max so will have minimum effects on the bioload. due...

warmer water is better as it releases the trapped air inside the wood quicker. put it in hot water and you should see bubbles rising from it pretty fast :good:

it can take a while for the wood to soak in enough water to weigh it down. is it just floating or have you weighted it down with something? if its just floating then the part of the wood at the surface wont be getting totaly wet so it might be worth sticking a rock on top of it until it can...
