Wild Red Spotted Peru Angelfish Tank

in terms of cost, I add 5ml of liquid ferts to my 320L everyday.........TNC costs about £15 for a 1L, so it's not too bad. Will look at the dry stuff when this bottle runs out though.
my EI starter kit cost £18 + p&p and there is loads of stuff that should last for ages.

im currently dosing 80ml of macro 3x a week and 80ml of micro 3x a week with 8ml of carbon every day. sounds loads compared to you????????

like I said, that dosing is keeping my vallis and crypts looking ok......I fear playing with the levels in case something goes pear shaped! Maybe if I used more there would be better growth.....but happy as it is.

I'm not dosing carbon either.....I suspect you need to dose more ferts because you are? (I've no idea!)

Ah congrats on the Bolivian eggs :D I cant remember which colour means fertile but you have a good split by the looks of it, especially for what could be a first time spawn?

Wills

the white are infertile so there are quite a few unfortunately  as far as im aware this is the first spawn but with there being so many greedy mouths in the tank i doubt they will last long. i would love to try and breed these bolivians as they are stunning examples with very bright colouration and the male and female are from different lines but ive no spare tanks anymore so ill just have to let them get on with it im affraid.....

if these angels spawn then a new tank may be on the cards as these are such stunning angels :hey:

If they have started breeding now I imagine it wont be the last lot of eggs and they will get clever over time as to how to keep the fry safe.

I dont mean to put ideas in your head but could you not get a fry tank to put in the cabinet? Small light, heater and filter in a 12 inch cube could see a few grow to a healthy size?

nice one on the eggs!

I'd love mine to pair up, but I've got a horrible feeling that all six are male.

wills this thought has already crossed my mind :hey: it would be great to breed bolivians....

cheers ZZ. ive just been to an lfs to try and find some females but they are too small to sex still so ill have to wait a bit for them to grow. i think i have 2 females so ill try and add 2 more to keep the stress down on them.

ive also been given an early fathers day present today of 12 chunky cardinal tetras taking my total to 36 :hyper: im going to add 2 more bolivians in time and maybe another L128 then thats it..... i think....

The Angels really are amazing!!! You can tell the quality mate.

Nice shot of the 128 and 200 too. :good:

You had convinced me on the peruvians, but now you've brow beaten me. :) They are lovely. The plecs would make anyone drool too!

a few more pics i got tonight and it seems the bolivians will be at it again pretty soon.....
