I once covered some glass in silicone and gravel to form terraces. It looked good for a while but then started falling off, not so good. Have you thought about using epoxy resin? It dries clear, if applied correctly, and will last forever IMO. I did wonder if pva would work ???? also dries...

If you go to your local building merchants and have a look round the yard you may find some broken clay drainage of various sizes laying around. We in the trade don't use clay much these days so you might get them cheap, certainly cheaper than the one on ebay.

armoured cat,(calichthys calichthys) Mine are about 7" same temperament as Hoplo's. Mine are in with small fish and cardinals. Don't seem to bother much.

There is hardly any weight in the cat litter but you will find that it pretty much levels it's self out with the circulation etc.

Are you going to fix it to the back glass?

Are you using the mature water and filter on your new tank??? If not you are heading for trouble. The new tank should have a mature or cycled filter before adding fish!

If your worried screw a piece of 9mm ply on the back which will hold it all together and act as a diagonal brace too.

3 to 5 days depending which cory. Make sure you put an air stone near the eggs to prevent fungal growth and throw out any that go white.

Its not a good idea and they're not very accurate either. I would take it out and buy a conventional one, although you don't really need one for cold water fish.

Clown loach grow to 18" in the wild... put a 2" clown loach in a 1 foot tank, your going to stunt its growth.. Extreme but true.

Its more the fluctuation in co2 levels than the lighting issue. With diy co2 you get what you get, you have very little if any control. When the system starts up you may get 4-6 bubbles per second, towards the end of its cycle you will be lucky to get 1 bps. Hence fluctuation in co2 and...

java moss, java fern, crypts, and anubia's should be ok I would think.

I recently purchased some anubias and had the same problem. It now has new shoots coming up after about three weeks, so I would say its normal.

If injecting co2 you are forcing the plants to grow so Yes they then need fertilizer of some kind, excel or similar. Diy method is a little unpredictable and may cause black bush algae. Good circulation is also required. A small gas system would be more predictable. IMO

I did this a few years ago for the same reason. The polyurethane varnish is safe for the fish. BUT if you do not get every little bit of wood, water gets behind the varnish and goes white.. still safe but does not look nice. So unless your wood is very smooth with no little holes that you cant...

I find cucumber less messy than courgette ( opposite to you) :rolleyes: My fish don't seem keen on courgette either. I put quarter of a cucumber in and it last about one hour tops!

do you use an air brush for your painting? looks great. I am trying to paint some corgi lorries at the moment but they are a bit of a pain to take to bits. I am repainting and adding decals to suit my themed diorama.
