Ive just set up and started cycling a 30 liter nano and want my plants to grow really lush so Ive decided to start with DIY CO2. My question is should I use PMDD liquid feed with this and if so how much. My tank is pretty well planted with a variety of plants and Im using an 11w lamp that came with the tank that I have on for about 8 hours a day. I have a 75ml bottle for the CO2 and a bubble counter and I just need to get a diffuser and some yeast and Im ready to go. Is this bottle big enough for the tank? I dont have any fish/shrimp in my tank yet but plan on getting some dwarf shrimp and maybe a couple of endlers when cycling is finished. I have given the tank a good start with some media from my 200 liter tank so I hope it wont be too long.

If injecting co2 you are forcing the plants to grow so Yes they then need fertilizer of some kind, excel or similar.

Diy method is a little unpredictable and may cause black bush algae. Good circulation is also required.

A small gas system would be more predictable. IMO

I should have mentioned that this is a temporary CO2 set up. I do plan on getting something better when funds allow :) Thanks for the help.

Have you considered using liquid carbon on a temporary basis instead ? Seachem's Flourish Excel or Easylife Easycarbo are both widely used by planties, and readily available from sponsors or on the Net :) I am dosing TPN+ ferts and Easycarbo daily and it seems to be working fine. And this is my stop gap until I can afford a CO2 system (which I would be able to if I didn't keep spending money on bloomin filters, lol)

Lol know that feeling well. Spent thousands since I restarted my aquarium hobby
3 months ago. The list of things to buy just keeps growing and I have to buy things in order of priority and a C02 system keeps moving down the list. I will look into the liquid carbon thanks.
