I Need Help With My New Tank

quite an essay. Gratz on your new tank. Seems like there is no problem with the filter, its just getting rid of any lasting air inside. Unless theres a leak or something. If you have the mature filter media, yes you put it in your filter. And starting adding fish immediately. Because if there...

Lightning Question On A Planted 29g

I am currently looking for a better flourcent bulb for my 29G tank. The tank is mildly planted with some livebearers. I was thinking, since its a planted tank, do I need to get like at least 60W for my aquarium? or maybe just a T5 14W bulb. The VHO 24" I've looked at are 75W....(not really...

Two Tanks - Two Problems (the Third Tank Is Fine, Lol)

Usualy no one would want sick fishies, its not guaranteed that they'll recover. But I suggest you treat them (dont abandon any), they might just come around. As for your plants, you can just wash them in tap water, I think... And for cycling, you gotta make a choice, fishless cycle is better...

    Looking For Advice

You can probably use the 30G tank as a heavily planted tank. 30G is enough for a variety of plants. You can keep quite a bit of tetras in your 30G tank too. Tetras in planted tank = eyecandy (in my opinion...) Tetras are quite cheap and common. A 10G tank can be used as a quaratine/hospital...

Why Do My Fish Stay In The Same Corner Of The Tank All The Time?

Grats on your new setup. If you just introduced them, new fishies hide for a while. When I introduce the new fishies, they just find a nice quiet place to hide till they are familiar with their new home, after that, they'll come out happily. And yeah, your tank is a bit overstocked, 8 neon...

I Really Need Some Help Please Iv Cracked The Bottom Of My Tank Aarrgg

You can always find a big enough bucket, ex. 5G bucket, and put your water and fish in there temporary. What Jourdy288 suggested. Avoid keeping your fish in your tank while you are disturbing/moving your gavel/ornaments/plants etc. You can probably repair your tank, but you better make sure to...

I Really Need Some Help Please Iv Cracked The Bottom Of My Tank Aarrgg

Sorry about your tank. You sorta need to remove everything before you can repair the tank. But since you are buying a new one, which is probably a good idea, I guess just hold up till you can get that new tank. If you move the old gravel/filter/water to the new tank, which already contains the...

Help Wierd White Worm In Water

I am no expert, but you should relax a bit. those white worms on the glass of the tank? Seems like what you are describing is harmless(you didnt give much details), but correct me if I am wrong. those worms are probably the result of over-feeding/over-stocked. You seem to be doing well on your...

Molly Had Babies And I Need Help

Make sure the babies are safe, careful with the intake tube also, you dont want them to get sucked in through the propeller (rarely any survives). Make sure you dont have too much turbulence in the tank (reduce the water flow, etc), better to conserve the babies' strength. Watch out for water...

    Help! What Should I Do?

Sounds painful. Maybe use like an airstone of some sort, or an internal filter that runs on air pumps? Ones that doesnt create a lot of turbulence. and maybe fill the tank water half way or lower so the guppy wont have to swim a long way up for air/food etc. I have no idea what else you can...

    Tailless Male Guppy... W/ Pic

    Tailless Male Guppy... W/ Pic

I have a 29G tank, 30" long. I always thought I would upgrade to a bigger tank, like 75G, before the balas grow up, so I kept 2 small ones(not more than 3" long) in the 29G tank. I do water changes every once 2 weeks, about 20% partial water change. I dont really clean my tank, since my pleco...

    Java Moss For Carpet?

Is it possible? Well, its probably possible if you have a lot, but will it work if I spread it thinly and evenly, and it'll thicken later on? My gravel is not that fine like the small ones or sand. There are probably other plants suitable for this job that I dont know of, but the reason I...

    Tailless Male Guppy... W/ Pic

Alright, I'll seprate him now. I had him for more than 5 months x_X I guess I'll have to take the balas out too. I thought balas are generally peaceful, I heard that some balas doesnt even touch neon tetras. The 2 SD's can stay in the tank with no problems? -Foameh

    Tailless Male Guppy... W/ Pic

I dont know what caused this... tankmates: a few guppies, two platies/two 2" silverdollars, two 3" bala sharks The most important question is, will he heal? or will he stay pretty much tailless. Is he in much pain? What should I do about it? Maybe I should transfer him into my fry tank where...
