yea im guessing he was super pissed at being cold, the red in his fins seem to come and go.

its hard to believe but this is him now, after adding heater to tank and him settling in. Most of the red has gone out of his fins.

The tank is a 3ft 150l - 39 u.s gallon well planted. All the fish are young, angels - 1", and gouramis - 2", my gouramis are very docile. They all checked him out and now pay no attention to him.

Hes in with 2 opaline gourami, 3 angels, 2 yoyo's and 6 tetras.

well thanks for the advise, seems fairly down the middle. iv just actually been and brought 1, have 2 fish shops only 5 min away, so ill see how it goes, have a small tank incase it goes pear shape. will add photo of him now.

did you fully wash the gravel before you put it in? I had to fill and empty my tank 3 times before i finally got rid of the clouding.

ive got the same thing, iv even got 1 lone neon that schools with the blacks, but my 1 outkast black is a lot smaller than the rest.

added the 3 young angels this morning, but that doesnt account for the spike 2 days ago. Also added some more fake plants yesterday.

i brought a API master kit, it has - Nitrite, Nitrate, Ammonia, PH and high range PH. cost $60 australian and i recckon it does the job.

just did another water change due to nitrite spiking again (no idea why?) are gouramis a bit more sensative to nitrite?, the other fish are fine.

My male and female opalines have hidden themselves away since i took out my 2 female moonlights, they all uesd to hang at the front of the tank but now the opalines have their own hiding hole and only see them at feeding time? Also the males colours seem to be more brilliant and the females...

i dont have anything 2 measure it with at home but im a fabricator by trade so i know its roughly 3ft long, i put 18 10l buckets of water in it when i filled it, so allowing for buckets not being completely filled to top its got to be 150l, i used a online volume conversion...

well ive just been to 3 fish shops (not pet shops, just fish) on my way home from work, and they all said what ive got in the tank vs size of the tank is absoultely normal and fine and there will be no worries at all. so im sorry guys i know you all mean well but this will be my last post on...

ok the yellows have gone back to the shop, but im still struggling to get my head around why the gouramis and sharks have to go immediatly, they are 2 - 2.5 inch fish in a tank that is about 1 metre long? sorry it doesnt make any sense yet.

its a 200 litre tank, not sure how many gallons, u.s is different then uk. maybe our australian bred fish are more chilled out than other countries? haha, i want to think positive.
