Pics Of My Fist Tank And Fish

I took this from a the fish profile here on the forum "These cichlids make excellent tankmates for most mildly and moderately aggressive mbuna, aulonocara, and haplichromines from lake Malawi."

I don't belive in that other stuff that other forum said, although I belive they may be one of the more peaceful mbuna. I really don't think any African cichlids should be kept in a community tank that small, even Kribs have been known to kill community fish and they are supposedly quite peaceful. Did it tell you the minimum size tank for the fish? I hear 30g minimum, and I don't think thats 30g, whats is it exactly? Please try to get some more diffrent things to add into the tank, they need a bunch of diffrent hiding places, and the Yoyo's may also benefit from it.

its a 200 litre tank, not sure how many gallons, u.s is different then uk.

maybe our australian bred fish are more chilled out than other countries? haha,
i want to think positive.

Sorry to tell you but there is no way that tank is 52 gallons. Try to re home the balas before you give them any major damage, the tank looks like it may be 20g, and the only fish that don't get any bigger then 5 or 6' are the neons, which are the only ones suited in size to stay there. Make sure though, measure the tanks L W and H and find out the amont it is.

I agree with discuslova. You simply have an incompatible stocking list. Why ask for help when you arent going to take any advice. I dont know how you have been so patient with this guy discus lova. Praise to you for it though. azzman, do some research and do this the right way, not the way that works for you and your gf.

mate, if i didnt want help why would i bother with this forum at all, what im saying is that at the moment and for the last
2 weeks there has been absolutly no troubles at all, and iv read other forums which say that the electric yellows are fine,
so Drew unless uv got something constructive to add then dont bother with this subject ok.

Two weeks is very little time...

Did you check the measurements yet?

BTW, this is a 50 gallon tank found at http://home.infinet.net/teban/vapc/0021.JPG as you can see the tank is still runs out of the picture. Is your tank that big plus 2 and a bit gallons?

Your tank isnt as big as you say it is. 2 weeks time is absolutely nothing just wait. Everytime someone gives you advice you dismiss it. Please show me how electric yellows require the same water chemistry/requirements as your other community fish? Also can you tell me their dieatry needs compared to your other community cichlids? How about stocking issues for africans and how many male and females do you have?Do you know how many should be kept in a tank your size to reduce aggression? Your neons will be a nice hearty meal in only a matter of time and then your cichlids will kill your gourami. You will soon also begin to stress you balas as you only have 2 and the tank is too small. You have no idea what you are talking about. Have a wonderful day.

im not dimissing it at all, if i was wouldnt i just say "get bent i know what im doing"?,
im just not gunna rush in right now and get rid of them, im still gunna take into account
the forums which say its fine.

Drew is talking some sense, it really comes down to fish that aren't compatible along with a fish tank that isn't big enough. Please do what we are saying, people are going to come a long with a whole lot more to say then us, trust me people get very angry at things like this. It is actually, from what I hear, agianst the law to do things like this in the UK and USA, there have been people prosicuted for improper care and keeping of fish. I know it is hard but please just give all the fish back, it will be the best thing to do for the fish, and rather then letting them die, giving them back now may result in a refund or even a store credit. If you are looking for nice colored fish Sunburst Platys come in a nice yellowish Orange and are good for your tank. Apistos and Rams are also very nice, they are brightly colored cichlids and can stay in your tank. Many other fish are okay, just rehome first and then we can get you a new stock list with compatible fish that will stay the right size for your tank.

You have one forum that says it okay, please give us the link to it so we can read the information ourselves, I have never heard of a Eletric Yellow forum...
If infact if you aren't making things up, I will flame the hell out of the person who wrote that because it is nonsense

Please show me where a forum says its ok to keep 2 electrics with the other fish you have in your tank. You are in no place telling anyone to get bent when it comes to fishkeeping, all one has to do is look at your stocking list to determine your experience. You do what you want. I suggest taking most if not all of the fish back and doing a little more research before you buy next time. Im sorry if this got a little heated but I am very passionate about this hobby.

If you really want another opinion there are many diffrent African gurus that I can pm to take a look, they will gladly (maybe even angrily) post that what you have isn't right and some people have been feeding you rubish... Ferris, is a very wise member, who is a mediator and can tell you all about the temperement of diffrent African Cichlids. Also take in the fact that both of us have told you pretty much the exact same information in a nut shell, wouldn't that signal something to you?

Good to see you have come around! I would loose em all ASAP and get some store credit. We can talk of a new stocking plan if you would like...

Don't worry if you are into nice colored fish there are plenty of vibrant guys suitable for the tank, is the real size 35g though because we need to know before we can go any further...

Azzman-After realizing I was new once too, here you go this should help you out a little bit...Reliable info for all of your fish and then you can do what you wish...

Edit-Just read your bite the bullet post. No hard feelings of course. Glad you have made the right decision. There is urgency but with the yellows out we are making progress. I will visit this post tomorrow and see what all of us can figure out.
