Does My New Betta Have Fin Rot?

Looks like nipping to me, either that or he is tail biting *common in bettas* the other fish in your tank are too big for a 20l I'm afraid, in my opinion you want just the Betta in there, maybe a few shrimp or a snail

    Very Poorly Male Betta

am guessing the tank is filtered? sounds like the ammonia levels may have been raised, you need to invest in a liquid kit to keep and eye on the levels, any trace of ammonia is lethal to fish

    New Male Chops

  18. lilfishie

    Very Poorly Male Betta

do a 50% water change just to be safe, 7 weeks sounds very short for a cycle, did you add anything to the tank before the betta?

Male Betta Stuck To Filter Inlet.

Seriously if you dont want to wake up to dead fish remove the male. You'll be amased how many times i hear *yeah there fine no issues at all so why should i separate* a week later its oh no my fighters are dead :/ personally as a breeder its not worth the risk. Plus you'll get so much more...

Male Betta Stuck To Filter Inlet.

Agree with above separate the make and get a few more females to stop aggression issues. Chances are the current is too strong for him. Bettas need very minimum water movement due the the amount if finnage

    Betta Tank?

Males and females can't be housed together so that is out of the question. In my experience Cherries *even adults!* are seen as food to 90% of Bettas both Male & Female, however I have had success with Algae/Amano Shrimp :good:

    Rescue Bettas

Fully agree with you there Oldman, I usually end up with mine for free as I know the owners well and they always offer them to me rather than letting 'them rot and die' so to speak, none of there other customers want a betta with no fins as there 'not as pretty' :grr:
