i am trying to condition frank for breeding and feeding him blood worms, but he wont eat. what should do?

thanks

he used to eat them but now he wont and my mom tried to feed him flakes and he didnt eat those. i am going to experiment and put him in a smaller tank (dont yell at me!!) because i think he might be exploring too much and not paying attention to the food. wit ha little bit smaller tank i can make his focus on the food then he will return to his big tank then the breeding tank :hyper:

For conditioning try things like frozen daphnia, frozen brine shrimp and fresh, live, mosquito larvae along with the usual flake foods. If that does not get him in top condition in 2 weeks, I would be quite surprised. I have never seen a betta that refused any of those foods, except spoiled ones who refuse the flake foods.

aren't daphnia little fleas? i will keep trying to feed him

Are you feeding frozen bloodworms?
Mine won't touch them, but go mad for live ones.
See if your Lfs has any live bloodworms or brine shrimp.
Sometimes the movement will encourage him to eat

they are frozen blood worms. my LFS doesnt sell live food like that.... :dunno:

All of my fish are simply mad for frozen daphnia, yep they call them water fleas, and frozen brine shrimp. Another nice food for conditioning is almost any true live food. I always have some microworms on hand and even adult fish seem to love this basic fry food.

my new cultures of m worms are getting huge. i will try that with my new ones (i am making a new post under betta and trop discussion) :good:
