Thanks for the help disco! How much exit pressure do you normally run? The last thing I haven't figured out is the piping between the end of the regulator and the diffuser. What size piping is normally used? Am I going to need anything else?

That's 100+ plants? It really doesn't show it very well, you have so much bare ground.

Do you just wash your plants off in tapwater when you get home? Does that hurt the plant at all?

I think if you soak the peice in water for a week or two before putting it in an aquarium you should be ok. Welcome to TFF

I'm going to use Eco-Complete in my new tank. It's black, looks good, and is really good for plants, much less comes with a little bit of bacteria which most likely makes it cycle faster

I paid $6ea for 2 Blue Angel Rams last night :) they're beautiful. Sadly my 10g is slightly overstocked atm, but all the fish should be moving into the larger tank in a week or so. Waiting for my filter to come in!

As far as fish goes, it's probably at least a little due to shipping. It's much more difficult to get Asian fish to the UK, and African fish are about equal to UK & US. Just a thought.

I'm no pro, but from what I've read up you want the ammonia levels to drop some before you add in plants. I'm going to start cycling a tank shortly and plan on cycling it for 3-4 days, then adding plants for a week or two, however long it takes for the levels to even out.

You should be able to find them at most computer places, or buy one online. I've never bought one so I couldn't tell you too much, but I know they have lots of extra features that you wouldn't need (Auto shut down etc.)

Whatever you do DON't use Aquarium Sealant. The jerk I bought my used 60g acrylic from sealed the background to the back of the tank. Took forever to get all of the sealant off and buff the scratches out.

I recently bought a used 60 gallon tank, it's in decent shape, just needs some cleaning up, however the idiot that I bought it from put a plastic background and used sealant to attach it to the back. What is the best way to remove this without scratching up the acrylic tank? Thanks in advance.
