this weekend i`m going to start a fishless cycle on my tank its had water and plants in for a week now i`m just wondering if the amonia or anything will kill the plants

I'm no pro, but from what I've read up you want the ammonia levels to drop some before you add in plants. I'm going to start cycling a tank shortly and plan on cycling it for 3-4 days, then adding plants for a week or two, however long it takes for the levels to even out.

right...

will i be able to keep the plants alive in a bucket for a week or two?

Wait... I misread the first time, my apologies. The tank is already set up for a week now? You can't really do much for the plants except keep them in the tank, unless you already have some water that has been cycled. The ammonia might kill some of the less hardy plants. What's your ammonia reading now?
