Nano Marine Tank

Really good looking tank! I love the purple firefish, they have such deep rich colouration.

Thanks Navarre :)
I Agree on the firefish, he's got great colours especially when he stretches all his fins out

I really like your tanks and think i might get a midas blenny also. Kinda thinking about upgrading to a 30g already....;)

Heres the latest and probably last picture i'll show for a while as i'm not adding anything new until the tank is downstairs.

His colours are coming out more! :D

Beautiful :) I'm still disapointed to find out your tank isn't actually purple.

Is it hard to keep a nano marine tank? I think I might start a marine tank but I dont have a lot of money for a big tank and all those salt water eqiptments.

 sorry Dark, at least i saved you from the dissapointment of spended £170 and then realizing it's not too purple. I'd still highly reccomend the fixture though :)

Hey EliteFishy :)

I wouldn't say it's too much work at all, Okay the upstart it a little time-consuming but from then on, it's little more work than a standard FW tank.
I'm in the £800's now but if you just wanted to go Fish Only with live rock and look out for bargains then you could save a heap of cash :)
Diffently would advise you too try them out, they're soo much fun and there's always something new to look at :)

Hey everyone :)

Just thought i'd do a quick update with some latest pics :)

Forgive the quality of the pics and the water stain yet again....

If this one comes out right you can see my firefish yawning

The tank is running smoothly atm. Diatoms are slowly being fought back. Cant wait to move it downstairs so i can start adding corals :)

Cheers
Dan :)

Little update although these are the latest pics but are probably a week or 2 old.

Heres my bad hitchhiker, identified by Aquascaper as a venomous beareded Fireworm :(

Youve hit it off with the aquascape. I wish I had the imagination and skill you have. I changed my tank and it looks stupid now. :S LOL.

Love the Firefish. Sweet! :shout:

great little tank

whats the difference between a nano tank and a reef tank???

Thanks guys :)

The only difference is the size of tank. Any tank under 30 gallons is considered a nano and these are supposedly harder to look after due to the smaller volume. Everything is running smoothly atm and is very little more work to a normal FW tank :)

I just call it nano marine now as it doesn't have any corals (yet) and isn't really much of a reef

Sf05, I saw your original thread in the nano section and I am glad that you decided to post a shortened version of it in the Members' Tanks section. It's a lovely little nano tank. I plan on a 30g long nano in the future.

Great job. Sorry about your hitch-hiking venomous beareded Fireworm. Knowing my luck I'll probably get those pest anemonies in droves, mantis shrimp, and fireworms!

How's that macro-algae doing? Do you like it? I like the spot of green.
