Any idea about the use of Indian Almond Leaves or extract like in Betta-SPA? There are so many medications & water treatments out there it's hard to know what to use and what can be mixed with what???

I read another betta forum that you should use salt at 1tsp/5 Gal water. Is that correct? Also, doesn't the anti-bacterial part of the betta-fix mess up the beneficial bacteria in the tank? There are so many "experts" it's hard to know exactly what is best!

this happened to me when i got my betta. i called the pet store and asked them how often they fed their bettas. they only fed their bettas once a week, so this was the schedule he was used to.

the petsmart near me actually just started carrying CTs. i think they've had them for....maybe 3 months or so.

walnut always yawns when i come up to his tank and wake him up in the middle of a nap. i think it's cute. :)

...just about everything has been proven in california to cause cancer. it probably won't hurt you unless you drink several bottles or bathe in a couple of gallons of it. i'm not sure about what you should do with the medicines... :( i do hope you're little friend gets better soon though!

i've heard that they can possibly live 5-7 years, and there have even been some that have lived over 10 years. but don't quote me on that.

The heater is a 25 Watt Hydor Theo with a built in thermostat and easy to set temperature. His tank ranges about 1-2 degrees through the day and night (about 77 - 79 degrees)

Thanks! You learn something every day. Actually the discoloration or fading was gradual over 2 months or so. My theory is that it has to do with the light/dark cycle since his source of heat was a 60 Watt desk lamp by his tank. I'll let you know if anything changes now that he is on regular...

No holes, just small clear patches that are probably not going to show on a photo. One other thing - his small side fins have been almost totally clear since he was new. I'm wondering if this isn't just genetics?
