I've got some horrible brown stuff on my plants, is this due to over feedings? Is there an easy solution to it? I bought lots of shrimp but they got eaten :(

If I put a 25l tank in my kitchen by the window is this likely to be a problem with direct sunlight being on the tank for a few hours of everyday? Might it raise the water temp too high?

Was it hard to mate the corydoras?

I think I've fixed the problem now :) I did 2x 50% changes and my nitrate and nitrite levels are really down to almost nothing. I'll do some tests tomorrow and see what my levels are like.

I think its because I've put too many fish into my new aquarium too quickly. I got some media off a friend and put loads of cycle in it but my nitrate and nitrite have gone high over the last day or so. My ammonia is 0 and my PH is somewhere between 7 and 7.5. My LFS sells bacteria in...

I've discovered I have a slight nitrate/nitrite problem so tonight I'm going to do an 80% water change. Should I be turning my filter off before doing a water change?

I tested my water yesterday and it was all fine. I've got lots of plants in there so figured I don't need an air stone. And the rams are new. I could get an air stone.

I made a wee video of my roma because I was playing with my dv camera. For some reason when I did my water change today the filter stopped and I didn't realise until a few hours after and the water was a little cloudy. It was crystal yesterday. Anyway my video is here :)...

I will call the shop and make some enquiries in regard to sending them back in place of something else. :P

I bet you're a vegetarian aren't you :P If they grow too large, ill give them away or try and exchange them. I wouldn't worry, at least they wont be eaten by any predators :)

I bought them before I had read any responses. The guys in both shops I went to said theyd be fine.

When theyre bigger I'll take them back to the shop. Maybe they'll give me more money for them if they're bigger :)

I will most likely buy a much bigger thank in the near future.

Once they're too big I'll give them back to the shop and trade them for something else :) They seem happy enough.
