I have to say I love football and do go the pub but I don;t watch football in the pub if its a game I want to see prefering to either be their or at home where I can watch it properly

How old are you Truck? Stellas pretty strong stuff!!!

but some spirits are good and some liquires even tho its a pretty gay drink kahlua isnice and so is white russian

The "Dude" drinks White Russians therefore they are cool! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Big_Lebowski

My favs are:
White Russian (gotta use Kahlua!)
Rum & Black (using Club Havana and if I have any Fiji Over Proofed Bountry Rum which is 58% proof
Belgian Beers (Leffe, Grimbergen Blonde, and if I want a real treat "Tripel Karmeliet")
Real Ale ("Kelham Island Pale Rider" is the best!)
Stella (when the choice is limited you can't go wrong)

I love my drinks but I never get plastered, quality over quantity

O brother is my second favorite, the soundtrack is awesome...I love this bit most:

Pete: Well I'll be a sonofabi###. Delmar's been saved.
Delmar O'Donnell: Well that's it, boys. I've been redeemed. The preacher's done warshed away all my sins and transgressions. It's the straight and narrow from here on out, and heaven everlasting's my reward.
Ulysses Everett McGill: Delmar, what are you talking about? We've got bigger fish to fry.
Delmar O'Donnell: The preacher says all my sins is warshed away, including that Piggly Wiggly I knocked over in Yazoo.
Ulysses Everett McGill: I thought you said you was innocent of those charges?
Delmar O'Donnell: Well I was lyin'. And the preacher says that that sin's been warshed away too. Neither God nor man's got nothin' on me now. C'mon in boys, the water is fine.

edit: I don't mean to take this thread off on a tangent, just love these movies, please continue talking about booze :)

You're not the only one. I love Oh Brother as well and will now have Soggy Bottom Boys in the brain all day long! Ok, back on track here.

Mojitos (made fresh with aged Mathusalem rum) - very refreshing and delicious. It is gettiing warmer in Miami now, so I'm gravitating towards the cool summer drinks. Also love beer and wine. My father's wine collection (may he rest in peace) features Spanish Riojas from 1982, '89, '95, and other vintages. I cannot drink all this wine by myself! I don't know much about beer, except that I like it. While I was working on my Doctorate, one of my friends used to make home brews. Some of that turned out pretty gross. But, he was very knowledgeable and a group of us would accompany him and his wife to beer bars in the area. He would order a specific beer, we'd drink it, and he'd tell us about it. I remember really enjoying the Black and tans.

llj

Dont watch football, full of over paid wimps mincing around after a ball

Drinks though depending on where i am are:

grolsh
kronenberg
desperados (with a slice of lime)
carslberg
stella (not a massive fan tbh  )
Southern comfort with coke - my favourite out of the lot i think

Who mentioned Bluegrass (Yee Haw)
That's my bag. Good Ole Ralph Stanley
I suppose we should add Moonshine to the list...LOL

Special brew if I'm drinking beer.

I'm quite fond of whiskey too though...any whiskey drinkers in? whats your fave?

Cragganmore or laphroaig for me

Just had to throw a youtube link or two in to make the music stick for the whole day!

Man Of Constant Sorrow
Down in the river to pray

And for others to maybe get it...if you haven't seen this movie make sure you do! It's a Coen brothers reinterpretation of Homer's Odyssey, fantastic

No more distractions I promise :)

A nice pint of Peroni.....mmmmmmmmmmmm!

Pear Koppaberg is also very very nice, as are Stella, Kronenbourg, Smirnoff Blue and Coke, or Tanquery and tonic.

I'm in the mood for a drink now.........
