i dont know if its anything to worry about but sometimes some of the angels are seen gasping at the surface for a few seconds. they then go back under the water level and air bubbles escape through their gills...

i never saw this behaviour when they were in with the rays. there is quite a bit of surface aggetation and the water parameters are fine. my first thought was oxygen levels in tha water but with 2 x FX5 filters, even though slightly turned down, there is enough surface movement

ive never seen angels do this before. any ideas?

all the other fish seem fine and dont do this either.

the eldest of my angels did this for quite a while when he was first introduced. Seems that it's 'quite normal' and nothing to do with lack of oxygen.

I find mine occassionally doing it still.

ok thanks mate ill keep an eye on them. i did turn the nozzles up a bit to give more aggetation anyway. they came from a typical breeders tank with sponge filters so the oxygen must have been much lower in there compared to either of my tanks....

totally random question but what colour is the ND tank you have, the one you bought for keith ? i ask because im picking out a tank and liked the colour of yours.

EDIT, i just read keiths journal and its on the first post lol  missed it first time around

just a quick update on the stock list in this tank -

13 x Rosy tetra
5 x Bolivian ram
2 x L200 green phantom
