I can also see black inside that white dot like a whole but would it be like that if she's just done a poop?

Does the stomach become smaller looking when it's squares off?
The front part is still low but following it down to the back where the white dot is that's equal but she does look a tad smaller
And I agree she's perked up since I've stopped putting her in the box on
A night so the hiding was a good sign of stress

No poor thing is massive last 4 days she can't swim just been lay on the bottom and when she does u see we little fins trying there hardest its a shame x

Any update Borngemini? I've been following this thread for a while since I also have a pregnant platy ^^
 
Mine is probably a week or more from birth, and I'm not using a breeder net or container, rather have them try to live naturally and become hardy and happy fishies! One thing that scares me however is the HUGE LONG THICKY poops she does, I never seen a fish with such a bio-load, but then again, I have platies for abouth a month only x)

Nope and I know the Poo worried me but it's fine and normal now, I'm not using breeder anymore I've brought a new tank and moved the fish out and kept her in a planted 15 gallon so she's really happy she's actually wanted tO get Into the breeder when I had fish with her but now she is just by the heater or has her back to the outtake of the filter so the water is hitting her behind I personally think the male was stressing her as I've kept her out the breeder since I got advised to, I will let you all know whn she finally pops

I noticed she's boxy and earlier she had an clear bubble
Coming from her vent she went skittish and it popped

Was it like an egg? Sometimes not all the fry develop properly and they can give birth to healthy fry and also undeveloped embryos. Have never seen this but have read about it somewhere. My mama platy is about to pop too - it's 4 weeks to the day since she had the last lot so it could happen in the next few days.
