What Is Squared Off?

I don't have a clue what it was lol, just noticed it coming from her was just a clear circle i don't think It was an egg because it popped when she went skittish
She's squared aswell now :)
And good luck
Everyone's having babies except sunny :-(

She'll have them when she's ready and most likely when you are not looking! lol
Mine had her 2nd lot overnight so I hadn't a clue how many there were to start with but 4 survived from that birthing.
I'm with Crippler on leaving them in the main tank. It's not possible to keep all the fry anyway (unless you have gazillions of tanks at your disposal as once they start breeding it happens every month). If they learn to swim fast and hide well they have a chance - it's survival of the fittest in my tank I'm afraid.
Hope you have some good news soon!

Patience paid off :). Congratulations on the fry. Now the hard work is yet to come...

Will try and get some I've netted them and put them in the breeder simply because she ate a good 10, I saved 15 but think she caught one in the net just as I caught it when she had finished labouring, so now I have 14! Patience did pay off! Also the helP did because you where right I looked and was shocked to see babies shooting from her behind shame some didn't make it though I did plant the tank hopefully I have some still hiding,

Ahhhh sorry - that was the 2nd lot I was referring to - it's the 3rd lot that's due any day now. Will try and get pics when they do arrive but the survivors will probaly be in hiding - will see what I can do!

Any update Borngemini? I've been following this thread for a while since I also have a pregnant platy ^^

Mine is probably a week or more from birth, and I'm not using a breeder net or container, rather have them try to live naturally and become hardy and happy fishies!

Any news of your pregnant platy Crippler?

If you want all the next lot to survive, might be worth setting up your nursery tank as a birthing tank and leave the fry in there until they are too big to eat (mine were 2-3 weeks old, tho at just over 4 weeks mum still chases them occasionally, but not with any real intent I don't think).
Still no sign of her giving birth yet - she is swimming about as normal and eating so maybe she's not quite ready yet.

I have a black molly that i just noticed tonight was boxy looking and has a white spot and is content to not move a muscle!  I'm worried she will have them before i can get something for the fry! i just got her a day and a half ago!! AAHH!!!

Wow! That's in at the deep end! A birthing box would definitely help if you want all or most the fry to survive being eaten. You'd also need somewhere else for them to live until they are big enough not to be eaten as the box itself would be too cramped as they grow. I have to rely on survival of the fittest as I don't have room for more than one tank. In mine, from being born, fry have be able to hide well and swim fast to avoid becoming a snack for mum. I have a huge plant where they can hide and so far have 5 survivors (see signature at end of this post)
Good luck with whatever you decide to do Linda

I have a 90L she birthed in reason I trapped the babies is she was like a ganit and ate so much :-(
The nursery was meant to be for the babies when there old enough for a filter but I'm just thinking an air pump and plants for the next batch, and omg good luck poor u it's hard that way I had a guppy that did the same but died in labour think it was prolapse

She is still big but has lost her boxy look. She is still non social and not moving much. Worried she had them and had dinner!
