What Goes In With My Oddballs?

IME, adult featherfins will become aggressive with one another, upside down catfish are the ones that like to be in groups. A single featherfin will be enough, I see plenty of mine, the fat swimming garbage cans they are

Also, as for cichlids:
Rainbow cichlids
Firemouths
Geophagus (Brasiliensis and surinamensis are very nice)
Would all do well with your oddities IMO, Those are all semi aggressive and, since none of the other fish are cichlids or cichlid-like (Anabantoid, for example) there shouldn't be major problems on the long run.

o k thanks i wasn't sure if they are the same or whatnot. thanks for correcting me. like i said i wasn't 100% sure and hope someone else would correct me if i was wrong.

How big do featherfin catfish get?

Aren't they supposed to just get to like, 6 inches?

then... for now... the final tank is decided! (Untill someone else posts some really really cool fish that none of us combine thought of....)

1x Albino senegal Bichir
3x Peacock eel (gonna get that striped one from petsmart)
1x African Brown Knife (petsmart it. It's already used to living with bichirs)
1x Feather Fin Catfish
1x Angel (yeah. I just simply have to have something that's gonna stay around the top... He's it probably...)

oh yeah....

1x False Flying Fox.

Love the guys. 6 inches. shouldn't get eaten.

I'd risk a school of Celebes Rainbows, but they only get to 4 inches. I'm guessing they'd eventually be chow...

that set up sonds really good to me. good luck with it and let us know how it goes. i need ot get some peacock eels one day even a BGK since i had some problems with mine and it probably was sick before i got it and didn;t realise it :(

but you will have better luck and like i said keep us posted on how it goes :good:

well - one thing is...

You're gonna need at least 25 more gallons before getting that BGK....

But you're perfectly suited for an African Brown Knife I'd think... Except for maybe the Jack Dempsy (I think those get agressive as they get older?)

But thanks! I will! And I think I forgot to add, but yesterday I added some more water wisteria, a very long plat that goes to the surface and travels along it, and some slate, which I cleared a lot of sand out of, so things can Hide there. In two weeks, for both monitary reasons, and for cycling reasons, this will all come together ^_^

sounds like a nice setup, I'd lover to get some of the spiney eels family, but my family ie the GF doesnt like them :D but them she hates my senegalus' too lol.

Good luck with the tank and lets see some pics when its up and tunning :good:

ok i see where you're getting this lol. you don't know my plans haha. i plan to get like a 75-100 gal (not sure what i'm gonna get but somewhere between there) in the very near future. until then they are all in my 55 gal.

the JB parrot is going to go into a smaller tank when i get a proper sized male so that i can breed them.

the JD is my girlfreinds, and she is going to take him back when she sets up her own 55 gal. so this will leave me with an empty 55 gal to play with and room in my bigger tank. YAY! :D

yeah, most people have cleaning up to do....

but so long as we get it done :good:

Both of our setups should be amazing I hope :hyper:

well.... due to unexpected happenings.....

the new plan's gonna be

3x peacock eel
1x albino senegal
1x African Brown knife
2x discus

It's not a bad thing, since I had planned for angels... but... I was really happy with the plans I had made too :/

Can't say so to a discus though when it's given to you... :S

that plan actually sounds better. i prefer discus way over angls so it is much betterto me at least. i want to get discus but don't feel i'm ready for them yet. good luck and take pics of the new additions and the tank for us ;)

Yeah....

I'll actually buy a disposable camera just for it.
A: I haven't had a picture of myself in a year and a half
B: The fish tank needs some pics anywho.
C: they're that cool.
