I made a mistake. Next month is Pet of the Month. Our next Fish of the Month will be in December. Get those pictures ready!

You are allowed to use a older picture of the fish as long as its not too old. ie you can't enter a baby fish picture and have an adult fish as the verification photo. It should be fairly recent, doesn't have to be taken that month exactly. If you take one this month or next month and enter it in December, you will be fine. You are allowed two photos. One main entry photo, one verification photo. Verification photo needs to be taken that month.Hmmm, So my rope will qualify in the November contest... Have to make a November sign that shows November and catch him when I can.Actually I wouldn't do that as, if I could catch a photo it would be within the contest time. I may be a bit competitive but I don't cheat.

today I took puppy for shots since she had recovered from yesterday's dietary indiscretion; delivered clown loaches, bought yoyo loaches (species unknown of course) and a couple of chinese algae eaters to quarantine. My big yoyo is beside himself. he enjoyed the company of the clown loaches and I knew he would be frantic if i didn't get him some kind of loach-y company
Today, the fishroom windows are closed, and the dehumidifier is on. No more this year will the breezes from the sea drift across the fishtanks...
The hatches are battened down, and the dehumidifier has already raised the temperature to 23.5c.
On a positive note, the Pristella fry have doubled in size, and are now eating baby brine shrimp. They all have little round orange bellies. And my Sturisoma, royal farlowella male is guarding very well developed eggs. They were stuck to the glass in a hard to see spot, and I only saw them when they were well along. I expect hatching tomorrow, from the look of them. That would be a good fish to have a group of. They're beautiful, and expensive enough that I could never have a group without breeding them.

Following last week's flu vaccinations, my husband and I have just had our covid vaccinations.
Today I will be meeting with mine and Linda's insurance gal to discuss my health insurance, (Medicare Advantage). Had some claim difficulty with the current company and although we eventually squared them away it left a sour taste in my oral cavity.
Linda's ongoing conditions require that I be careful so I will be assembling her receipts and listing codes to go through with the rep. My stuff is simpler so wherever Linda chooses to be covered I will most likely follow.
The above process will destroy the morning I suspect. That is alright because it is downright cold. Second morning with heavy frost (28F) this morning and 26F yesterday. I stayed in yesterday all day because I abhor the cold. Today I will need to dress for it and help Linda start preparing her plantings for cold. I get to do the up in the air trimming and hauling of mulch. Should be able to finish it all by Friday afternoon.
I will also be purchasing an XMAS gift for Linda and my mom later. Tickets to the Rockettes at Radio City. Will take the bus charter in mid-December for lunch and the show. Course I get to go also so Linda will claim it is not a real gift.

I'm going to do water changes this morning. It'll be one of the last ones where I can do the whole room - in winter I have the space divided into four units as my little water heater won't do the job against ice cold tap if I do too many. In winter, I do 3 early morning 40 minute maintenance bursts. Doing the whole room takes around 90 minutes, but the set up adds time. I prefer that summertime routine, but I am trapped indoors more in winter, with no garden or other outdoor activities to share my free time.
Ah, retirement. It's a great period until pieces start falling off, and I'm still in good shape and enjoying it. Tomorrow will be for Covid and flu vaccines, for us and for the 90 year old who lives with us. Then yardwork, the last of it for the year. The kayaks are away, and the snow tires have been pulled out and readied for use. It's a beautiful, crisp in-between time.

Yesterday we drove 5 1/2 hours with Devil dog to North Carolina to visit the grandkids. I am leaving my Tanks on their own for seven days. My six yellowtail Congo tetras and the pair of p. pulcher Ndonga arrived only a week ago. I hope they are not too stressed by my absence and the lack of food.

Turns out they cancelled traffic court and never bothered to tell me. I had to call the courthouse.
Don't worry @connorlindeman , the TFF tunnel diggers are ready and waiting if it turns out badly. We'll want a fish of the month for fish that dig though. The highly trained dry land Geophagus are all set.
If you get arrested, TFF will most likely bail you out - one of the benefits of being the Contest Czar. We need you here running the contests.
