Been watching football and getting ready to watch baseball playoffs.

Also feeling a bit dumb. Noticed there was no surface turbulence happening with the output for my built in sponge filter. Pulled the pump to see what was what and didn't see anything obviously wrong which means nothing. Then a light bulb lit up over my head and I looked at my battery backup for the tank and plugged in the pump. Did a water change yesterday. Have to unplug the pump when doing so or it will run dry. Forgot to plug it back in...

Today is laundry day.

All filters are working, fish are fed and doing their usual zoomies. All is well in the fish world so time to concentrate on the human related chores.....tween frothy coffees, of course.

Today I’m going to be stuffing these empty T-bag cases with some polyfil.. the teabags on their own are fantastic but looking to clear it some more. No chemicals added to the filling btw

I spent about two hours on maintenance today, small gravel vac, weeding, pruning, water change and got the heater out to match the temps this time. Added a backdrop of some olive green card that I had lying around the house and inserted my teabags into the U2 sat here now and can see loads that I’ve missed

I legit walked into the room my tank is in and looked at it thinking: "Why did I even get an aquarium". Don't know why I thought that but now I have barely any motivation to upgrade to a 40g....
It's weird, I WANT to have a 40g with more fish but I'm not sure if I really want to commit to that decision now.
I may just get more plants for the current tank and place the wood differently.
Might get more fish but idk....
All my plants are dying kinda... I know the java ferns are really doing bad.
The bga used to be nice, now it's just overwhelming in the tank...

Yes I do.
API leaf zone. I was told it wasnt good but before I didn't use it and the ferns gradually dying. When I started to use it the ferns picked back up and even grew new leaves. Now they are kinda paralyzed and don't look all that good.

My smalles anubias I killed, my medium one has bga on it and the biggest leaf is yellowing.
My biggest one I think has bga on it (hard to tell) but it's doing really good!

I’m sure this is why all the YouTubers switch up their tanks.. either gets unmanageable or they get bored of the scape.. do you have a small tank you could maybe split the plants and store half?

Maybe they feel cramped that’s why they’re dying off?

No, they have good amount of room to grow.... Something is off with the water. I'm thinking of trying amazon swords and seeing if they do better as a fast grower
