What are you doing today?

so is your lawn mower the rotating reel type
Yes. As you push it, it rotates a large blade.
I like it but it has a few obvious issues like it getting jammed

Do you use an old fashioned hand mower like Donald Duck from the comics?
They don't do well on long grass or damp/ wet grass.
They work best on short grass in dry weather.

Yah, I use it when it's only a little damp or dry. We are looking at upgrading to an electric though sometime next year

Get a battery operated lawn mower. They are readily available now and a lot cheaper than when they first appeared on the market.

Don't buy a lawn mower that has a cord and plugs into a power socket. They are cheap but dangerous.

or at least ask Daddy if he can buy a gas powered mower

then you can mow your neighbors' lawns and make some good money

an electric mower would probably only have power to mow your lawn in one charge
A gas mower would allow you to mow unlimited neighbors' lawns on the same day...just refill gas tank when it runs out

Oh no, were NEVER getting a corded one 😅
I don't even understand how those are legally manufactured 😂

We want to stay away from gas. The gas will get expensive, stinks up the garage, and it pollutes the earth... We figure electric will be best

my gas mower is 36 years old and still runs well...they don't pollute the air that much as it's a 4 cycle mower just like a car... a 2 cycle engine does pollute as it burns oil with the gas but mowers nowadays are 4 cycle

Do what the councils do. Have a couple of electric (battery powered) mowers, whipper snippers and chainsaws, and a number of spare batteries. They mow and cut until the battery goes flat. Then put it on the charger in the vehicle and use a spare battery.

You don't need 2 mowers but get a spare battery and swap them over when you need to.

electric mowers cost more upfront and when the batteries wear out, they are very expensive to replace
gas mower..just change the spark plug occasionally and do a proper storage procedure over the winter...use Stabil product mixed with the gas and run out all the gas before winter storage..

sharpen blade once or twice over the mowing season

each type of mower has it's benefits and drawbacks compared to other types

Delivery day today....the bit that was missed the other day...my new air fryer should be here by lunchtime according to the tracky thingy

Done the water changes already this morning - started at 0430 and finished 90 minutes later (took longer than usual cos I had to fight off Fred's beloved duckweed, I won and now there is a nice bald patch on the top of his aquarium, he is not quite so amused...well he wasn't til I fed him in the bald patch, now he is happy and mouthing off at me as usual) ;)

All fish present and correct....albeit that the BN's are still producing from somewhere, the randy bunch are thinking it is springtime and reproducing like rabbits despite all attempts to catch

Sat having my first coffee of the day now, contemplating what to have for breakfast......not fed the main aquarium, so have many many many pairs of very indignant beady eyes watching my every move..... :grr:

After my fun with the 125 gallon yesterday, I am looking forward to doing a whole lot of nothing. That being said I unfortunately need to do water changes on a couple tanks and clean up the spectacular mess I made yesterday...after some coffee and the ibuprofen kicks in.
