What are you doing today?

Today I am, don’t tell anyone…. *whispers* working. LOL, been a week of afternoon teas and gentle puttering. Today and tomorrow are going to make up for it though.

I'm tired. I spent the whole day in the car, going to pick up a box of new fish. The closest airport I can get them shipped to is 3 and a half hours away. I don't do this often, as you can imagine.
The fish survived at 100%. 7 SA tetra species, a Loracarid and 2 western African Cichlids. Am I pleased? Yes.

I only asked for 4 tetras, but my friend threw in the 'mixers' - fish shipped from Colombia with the ones ordered. I like surprises. I have to grow them (they are juveniles) and see what I have.

I drove into slushy snow on the way up, near where the coal mines used to work, and that was slow going. The way home was all clear, without a single police car in sight. I, umm, like to see police cars so they can see I'm on a wide open, dry and traffic-free highway, and am respecting the speed limit. Yes sirree. I like that.

Spending the golden 21st in bed resting. Definitely how I imagined today going when I was a kid. Lol

Happy birthday. When I was a kid, I didn't think as far ahead as 21. I never thought I'd be THAT old. Hang in there and keep pushing - those of us who aren't supposed to still be here really like the place.
I spent my 21st wanting to be in bed. If I recall, there was something with a bad batch of beverages involved the evening before. But I had to work all day in a factory. It always seems like the big birthdays are on weekdays.

Wishing you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Juice! And hoping things improve for you, medically, in years to come. Keep up the spirit.

I spent my day taking my puppers Daisy Mae for a ride, picking up meds at the pharmacy , getting aquarium safe silicone to make a couple homemade caves, got my Powerball ticket (jackpot 750 million) and my mega million ticket (Jackpot 977 million) helped a friend fill out her rent rebate form( was rewarded with some homemade angel food cake😇) then took Puppers for a walk. Came home ate too much of the aforesaid Cake😋 with a cup of fresh percolated coffee (better & cheaper than the pods) Did a deep dive on blue aquarium light, and now having fun bouncing around fishforums.net playing word association & what did I do today 🤭 now I’ll shut up……

I had the new bow up to 50 pounds at 6 inches before the backing broke. 😡 I think I can save it, but bleah. Just when I thought it was almost finished.

Here's what I'll be doing this weekend. If anyone is passing through western Wyoming, do stop by and say hi. And bring your dancing shoes.
(and yes, that's really the name of our band, and yes, it made sense at the time  )

My favorite saying for musicians “ we don’t stop playing because we grow old, we grow old because we stop playing” (George Bernard Shaw) 🎶🎶🎶

Away from the endlers this week, saw a different sort of fish this week:

Well guys 'n gals, here's what I'm doing today.
Anyone who visits the forums regularly can perhaps remember my comments on how my wife has contracted Alzheimer's.
Well, it's progressing at quite a fast pace to the extent that i have a clip to wear on my shirt saying "LYNN ROBSON - Husband". You get the drift.
Confusion and impaired personality is creating one hell of a life for me at present with no likelihood of it calming down.
So, starting today I'm selling off all my tanks, fish, accessories etc as quickly as possible, even my almost new D&D Aqua Pro Reef aquarium. I just can't attend to fishkeeping right now.
So folk, sorry to say it, but my fishy days are over. Anyone needing stuff from my vast arsenal of aquatic related items just drop me a pm, or look at Facebook Marketplace where I've already placed a couple of tanks for sale,
I have more damn tanks than Ukraine at present, and they all have to go.
In the meantime I thank each and every one of you for the comradeship shown to me over the past years.

Well, I got the new engine in two days ago and spent the last two days reconnecting everything. Yesterday I filled all the fluids up and turned the key. Nothing. Checked all the electrical connections. It turned out I didn't connect the ground wire. Tightened that down and turned the key. It started up perfectly. I am pretty happy right now :)

When I was a teenager I used to hang out w a bunch of motorheads. I remember my grandmother would say “young ladies are not supposed to come home w car grease on their face and clothes!” That’s back when you looked under the hood you knew what was there and it made sense! I had a 1970 Ford Torino w a 350 Cleveland that my brother gave me when he went to Marine Corp boot camp. Sure miss that car 🚙 Good Luck with your car!

Congrats on getting the car running.
So, where are you going to go in it?
