What are you doing today?

LOL! If you think stuff from the 1950's is old you should see the book I have of Sci-FY short stories from the 1880's-1890's. Now those are a challenge!

To add on you might be surprised at the stuff you know today that was actually written in the 1950's and earlier which is often referred to as the 'golden age' of Sci-FY.

Let's see...

1) Like the movie The Hobbit? The book was actually published in 1937 yet today it is a popular movie. The Lord of the Rings was written in 1954 and 1955.

2) The first rendition of Edgar Rice Burroughs' Mars (Barsoom) series was done in 1911. Think the movie John Carter of Mars. The movie was mostly based on 'Princess of Mars' written in 1912.

3) Frank Herbert's first book, also a movie, in the Dune series was written in 1961 but there were earlier renditions.

Man, that looks like the life! Catch anything?
Sadly no. But that's ok! I just like testing my lure... Keep the line wet. 😅
And also, I just like to be out on the water there...

Sadly not the best section of the river. It looks great, but there is jet fuel in the water

Literally been playing this song too much 😂
I really like it...

Wow, what a sad song! Sounds like that guy needs to get out of an abusive relationship. Heard the first chorus and thought, "yeah, that was my life this morning."

But I'm wondering, how does one "literally" play a song too much? Is it possible to metaphorically listen to a song too much? I think about these sorts of things.

Yah, it's a sad song... But I do really really like it.

I will overplay a song until it gets boring 😂 Until my brain has no more appreciation for a song and I have to take a 6 month break from it before I can hear it again and really enjoy it 😅

Watching Monday Night Football but caught my most mature cichlid posing. One of the things I love about many South American Cichlids is the flare and shape of the dorsal fin. Has a bit more to go go to be totally mature but the colors are starting to show as in the yellow tint in some fins and tail. Not all that apparent in the following shots but the 'iridescent blue' that will become more is showing a bit behind the gills. Since there is obvious fin flaring with zero clamping I have to assume that he is happy in my setup. :)

Today I am working an an EMT. Tomorrow I have an 8 hour shift and I have yet another shift the day after that. Plus I get my wisdom teeth removed on Friday.
Today my grandmother collapsed on the floor and we had to call 911. The EMT's came.

Nice to see you, Doc! Been a while. So you're an EMT now, are you? I seem to remember you were just thinking about that when I last heard from you. How are you liking it? I suppose it's one of those jobs where you never have to wonder if you're making a difference in the world. :)
