You voted without knowing whose manifesto you agreed with?

I think the first change to happen with the voting system is that when you register to vote, you are sent the manifesto of all major parties, if not all parties running in your area.

At least the live debate gave some indication to people what the main points of each parties manifestos were, but I agree read the manifesto's before voting...if you can read anyway

No, I meant I wasn't sure about the manifestos where I live when I'm not at Uni, but I didn't vote there. I voted in my Uni constituency, where I did read them.

The manifesto's you read should have been the one and only version, they're not local but decribe the parties views for the whole of the country, so what you read at Uni would be the same as back at home...

Bleh, I suck at political terminology/knowledge in general. What I meant to say was more along the lines of that I don't know what the effect of changing from a Labour area to a Tory area where I live will be, if any at all.

I suck too, but that doesn't stop me having opinions, lol.

I think they need to educate people about the whole system at school.

What got me was when I went to the polling station there were no simple instructions on how or what to mark on the ballot papers! Simple enough for someone who's done it already, just mark a cross, but I did hear some asking and do wonder how many spoilt ballots there were because of no simple examples on display

Got ya, I didn't really pay much attention to local pledges from the parties, they never come through anyway...shows how much faith I have in politics aye, just hope the recession doesn't stay for too long

That is strange. I voted for the first time yesterday and in the booth there was a very simple pictured diagram at eye level on the back of the booth telling you exactly what to do  Nothing around the room however, so you had to be IN the booth before you noticed the sign. I also did have my mum with me who was voting too and i just followed suit  If she wasn't there though i would have had to ask, i know my friend did (he is 25yrs old and voting for the first time)

The one I went to explained everything, although I suspect that's largely because most people voting there were students who'd only voted once, twice or possibly never before. I think last year they explained things too, but then again if it was especially busy this year they want to get people done as soon as possible.

Nick Clegg was wearing an orange tie this morning, I wonder if that indicates anything lol

That he is wearing his parties colours?!

Some people....

No, that would be more of a yellow...red+yellow=orange, get it?

Didn't mean anything in the end anyway :)

Actually, If you look it up. His colours are Yellow, Amber and Gold, so wearing a "amber" tie is truly justified and it doesn't suggest anything but the support for his party.

i'm suprised he wasn't wearing a blue tie. The lib dems are just like the Italians.

Whatever, deep orange is "not" amber, gold or yellow

Like the point matters now anyway...

The picture you posted as an example was indeed Amber.
