Trial And Error

Well the plants didn't arrive Thursday as i had originally thought, but they did arrive today.

So... Rescape complete. Sit back and let it grow in.

Also added another smaller led just to give the Glosso a little bit more of a boost. First time trying a 'proper' carpeting plant... Fingers crossed it works!! :S

Right, here you are. Looks hideous compared to the last one, but should be nice when (IF!!!) the Glosso grows in. Unsure on the positioning of the stems etc, so they may change in a week or so. Also a TetraTEC EX700 should be here soon to replace the fugly internal. :good:

Anyway...

Looking good. Although, I'd proably plant the glosso only on the left hand side and keep the cat litter substrate without. It's so hard to imagine.

Yay to an external. I can't wait to get rid of my internals, so ugly!

Whats the grassy plant? I like the rocks and the glosso will look great. I've been wanting to do a full carpet in a tank too but need a smaller tank to scape in.

The sword isn't as red as I expected. I have read that Echinodorus Barthii can get massive. I have a similar "melon" sword and under high light it grew all horizontal and vertical and would have filled a whole 10g. Then again, those may be emersed leaves and you might be in for a surprise explosion of plant :good:

Thanks. :)

The 'grassy plant' is Blyxa Japonica.

I would imagine that the sword is emersed growth. If it grows above the water then so be it! :hyper:

Blyxa Japonica!!!  Everytime I see that in someone's tank I ask what it is. You'd think my brain would start connecting the name to the image but

I have got to just get some already.

looks good mate, just make sure theres plenty of flow around that glosso rather than adding extra light. Glosso can carpet well under low light, as long as the flow is good. I wish you'd have Pm'ed me as i have just thrown loads out!
