Hi all,
so far have 4x Guppies (so that rules out fin nippers) 6x Harequins and 6x Zebra Danios, a well planted tank 80cm X 30cm. Quite a hardy fish preferable. any suggestions? Thanks.

Bettas arent fin nippers and would probably be good for your tank, the guppys if they're fancy colored then it may pose a problem and might result in the killings of your guppys. Another option is a killifish, they are beautiful fish and I currently have a male Fundulopanchax Gardneri Lafia that I'm going to breed to some females I'm getting soon, you should look into killies because they're great community fish.

Oh and i forgot to add that the pic of my killi is my avatar.

i heard killies die after a year, part of the reproductive cycle is this true? sorry off topic i noe, well for fish maybe a dwarf gourami or german blue rams, how many gallons is it tho???

Depends what kind of killifish it is, some live 6 months others up to and over 2 years.

Bettas in a community tank will be fine - but research tank mates thouroughly!
Mixing with Guppies will result in dead Guppies, don't add known fin nippers etc.

the tank is about, 20 us gallons or about 16 uk gallons, I THINK. No from the guy at my local fish store he said that bettas are fin nippers, and i have colourful guppies so i think that would be a bad idea..? are killifish fin nippers? (sorry to ask im away from home at the moment so i cant check my books.)

please please please dont put bettas with guppies!!! bettas go for anything with long fins just like their own.

There are reports of killies taking eyes out of other fish, not sure on this as mine are always in a species tank.
