They've Spawned!!!!

My babies are just over 6 months old now and I thought you might like to see how they've grown.

Here's the first one. There is a lot of variation in their sizes.

And another:

Here's one with the little panda:

Here's another with the little guy. Pandas grow a lot slower than C. aeneus, but this one is doing very well. He thinks he's a lot bigger than he really is and plays with the blacks like he is one of them. :)

Since I've been taking pictures of them with a dime to show their size, here's one. If you scroll back you will see how fast they have been growing these last 2 months.

Finally, here they are doing something corys love to do. They are all in a big pile.

The time has come for them to start moving on to new homes. I've already found homes for a few of them and more will be going out this week or next.

Very nice

They sure have grown. That picture with them in a pile is great. Is that little panda in the middle of that pile still thinking he is one of them?

Awwwwww......they are too sweet for words  well done and I bet you will be sad to see them leave! Wonderful photos, I love the one of the pile :D Thanks for sharing them with us.

The little panda might well be in the middle of the pile of them. Nothing stops it from playing. He's become a special pet since I "discovered" him in the picture a couple of months ago. He's the only one of his kind in the tank. :D

:grr: Inchworm.... Now you know i get jealous everytime you post the pics of the black cory's. Could I please ask you to refrain from doing this on a regular basis as it really plays on my mind. Either that or please work out a viable solution on how to get a half dozen of those little beauties into Northern Ireland. Please let me know if this is at all possible.

Hi BigC :)

I don't have a clue what would be involved shipping fish internationally. I think it would involve trans-shippers and such. Right now I'm trying to work up the nerve to make my first shipment ever and I'm just about a nervous wreck over it.

I'm surprised you haven't found some already. I was told by the seller that the spawning group I bought was hatched in Germany. Surely there must be some available somewhere in the European market. Wouldn't that be easier than shipping from the US?

If they're in Europe then the breeders are certainly keeping their cards pretty close to their chest.

Easy Peasy. Small insulated poly box, packaging (bubblewrap, newspaper) double bag the fish in 1/3 water to 2/3 air, 1 fish per bag.. and don't feed for 24 hrs before dispatch.
Add a heatpack if required. Choose your method of posting and thats it really.
Good luck with your dispatches.

and once again.. you make me so very jeleous of your fish.. congrats on the continued success with these rare black aeneus.. i have yet to hear of anyone in canada who has these guys.. weird considering how easy you seem to make it to spawn and raise these guys.. what's the chance of more pics.. i just can't get enough of the pics of these guys.

p.s.
what else have you gotten spawning in your tanks in regards to rare corys?

Congratulations on the spawn, those pics are adorable. :) Still no look finding the black variety in my area, I think I will have to look into private breeders now, or maybe buy internationally.

Wow, those are pretty, i can never find those where i live. If you find you have a few extra, i can take some off your hands for you :D
