That's a male veil tail and the female could just be stripey, you do get them that way...but it could be stress lines too. If you're worried ask in the betta section and post the picture. Are they in the same tank?

My female Crowntail had similar stripes on her sides.........could just be natural coloring
She does look like she has a bite out of her top of her tail

I asked for dimensions on the 150, it's 72x 15x 25, which is only 117 gallons, and the lighting is 1 48" 28 watt 10,000 K T5. Is that good? I'm thinking. I do like option 3, especially if he's talking new. I'll ask him later.

My 2 hoplos love it, but nowhere near as much as my plasies... There's literally a flock of platies round it with morbidly large bellies... Your swordies would love it! - peel it and boil it until soft (basically, how you would have it) and just chuck it in!
