I used to leave my platy fry in the tank for the fish to eat when I had too many. Whats the difference?

My malawis are cannibals lol. I don't try and save the babies, and I have only had one survivor so far

There's a tiny difference, depending on tank decor.
If tank is well planted, the fry have a chance to escape in the case of leaving them in main tank.
Throwing them in a betta tank with not enough plants = instant death.

But when it comes to choosing between zero-odd survival chances and having to put the fry through torture because the tank is not big enough, I guess it's best to just put them out early.

Im not saying its wromg and i know bettas are micro predators i just thought doing it cuz your bored is a bit creepy, i suppose the avatar pic didnt help

Then maybe you should spend a lot more time on the net acting like you do in real life? Because no offence, I have seen a lot of your posts and you come off as very condescending and judmental in about 99% of them. Once again, not trying to be rude, just giving some constructive criticism

My jack dempseys have about 200 babies so they are always on the defensive. The male bites the crap out of my fingers when I do tank maintainance. Hurts like an SOB and its gotten to the point where i have to thump him in the forhead gently with my finger to get him to leave me alone. Its quite lovely.

The oscars only bite me when I hand feed them

oscars are mean.. I had a few aboot 15 years ago.. Would eat anythang.. they get big too.. Dint has the fortitude to stick my hands in that tank..

Mine are pretty well like kittens. They are actually really intellegent fish. Mine jump for food and the rub on my arms when i am doing tank maintainance.They are actually pretty sweet fish. bout 9 inches right now.

My hoplo does the same, but sometimes it's annoying when I do tank maintenance and he just can't stop nibbling on my arms and blowing bubbles. I can also handfeed him (and it's best I do that, as the swordtails eat anything that falls to the tank middle / floor while Tzuppy just floats at the surface hoping to get the first bite).

just ordered some assassin snails and some MTS for my tank. should be fun. will they eat each other? i want some shrimp too, will they be safe?
