Hey Lovelies!!!!


My gut hasn't been right for the last few days.. You'd think that my body would be used to all the BBQ I've been eating but ahhhh, maybe not so much.. Still has more bbq to go..


All my fishies are a-o-k...

Yup. Also, Cracker used to hang out a lot with his daughter, to the point where he was courting her and going around in circles because she was so small and he was trying to mate.... Odd.

Bee also sleeps near that fry, but mostly because Cracker is there and they always stay close.

I really hope this fry survives over a month in the main tank. It's like a curse that I always lose fry when they're about to hit the 3 cm size.

Good looking aquarium MoF, looks like it's brand new:

Includes a Fluval 405 canister filter, which is their older style, but it still has a good reputation. All the decorations are garbage in my opinion though & the price is a bit high at $450. Make sure the stand is solid looking & feeling since much of the price is the furniture. You offered him $300 right? What did he say?

Yeah not a fan of the decorations, but the other stuff seemsnice. They said there's a lot more extras than what was mentioned.

The fluval 405 is not that old tbh, I believe it was just last years model, as this years was the 406. Still a good filter though

Stand definately looks very solid I'll see what it feels like.

I offered $300, and they ignored me. I sent a new e-mail and we agreed upon $375, but I don't get the 10 gallon it comes with. I'm fine with that, I don't need another small tank I won't use, for 75 more dollars.

Hey lovelies............

Last night I noticed some very slight white on the nose of my new female Crown Tail Betta and it got me worried so much that I came home from work today with a bottle of Pimafix to treat fungus. I think it was a condition from a possible fight with the other female Betta. Anyway, I went to check on her with the tank lights still off and there she was floating lifeless nose down in the sand. Her beautiful blue color and stripes all washed away

Here's some pics last night before I noticed any problems, I took them because she had colored up so much her fins were now red:

that's a bummer dude.. I bet your crown tail and my blonde guppy with the red tail that died on me a few weeks ago are hanging right now in Valhalla..

Hey Lovelies!
Ninja's still alive and his dorsal is growing back fast. Tzuppy doesn't seem interested in him, as he frequently swims by the fry at the top and just moves him out of the way.

Also, everyone in the tank has received some egg yolk treats. X)

Thanks, but it gets worse. I did a 60% water change since the Betta died. The surviving Betta wouldn't eat last night and she wasn't her usual energetic self so I took her in out & put her in a separate container. I found her dead this morning. She didn't show any signs of anything wrong except that she didn't eat & she wasn't swimming around as much as usual. Let's just say I've been put off to getting any more Bettas until I figure this out.

All the other fish in the tank are fine including 7 Corys, 4 Glowlights, a Bolivian Ram, a Guppy & a BN Pleco. Maybe my water is too hard? I have no way of measuring the water hardness.

The surviving Betta wouldn't eat last night and she wasn't her usual energetic self so I took her in out & put her in a separate container. I found her dead this morning. Let's just say I've been put off to getting any more Bettas until I figure this out.

All the other fish in the tank are fine including 7 Corys, 4 Glowlights, a Bolivian Ram, a Guppy & a BN Pleco. Maybe my water is too hard? I have no way of measuring the water hardness.

Poor bettas.
Well, I doubt it's the hardness, maybe they had some disease on them or something...
One more reason why I shouldn't get a betta. Besides my swords being nippers.

In other news, Cracker has reached a new level of wimpiness. His own son beat the scales out of him. And that critter is less than a third his size.

Everytime he sees me I think of a sneaky comment about it he finally said, ok I'll talk to your mother. I got her to say ok to me as well

Reminds me of how hard it was to convince my mom only for the 20 gal. If she'd hear of a 70+ gal one... she'd want to put it over my head.
I already have the 39 gal in the attic though...

Today's supper has been quite entertaining.
I was watching my apple snail, Lorenzo, having fun with the powerhead.

He gets sent by the current to the other end of the tank, then he goes back, climbs on the filter and goes back to the jet. So cute. And a bit crazy.

Now I managed to convince the ladies of the tank to gather up for a group shot. They seem to gather on cue of circular motion on the tank walls. Lol.

Bettas like soft water, almond leaves, etc. I don't have that. My pH does swing a bit too, which isn't good for any fish really. At one point it was around 7.4 from the tap & now it's more like 7.0. By the end of the week I can see the pH drop a few to like 6.8 or so.
