Yeah but changing water so many for fry could get quite annoying.I'm just toying with the idea since I have plenty of little containers to keep the fry in. If any survive to full size I could pluck the females I want out & keep a couple of males in the 10 gallon with a partition. The rest would be taken to a local fish store. Winter is pretty far away and I don't have to decide anytime soon.

Nope, when he was a tiny fry, he was born in this bowl.I think maybe he is just settling in. It is probably a bit scary in with the huge adults, as the only other time he has seen them was when he was a tiny fry, and they tried to eat him!

And his mom didn't try to eat him.
The second time he saw adult fish was at the beginning of this summer, a while after Pinky was in with the adults too. None were trying to eat him. But I put him back into the fry cage a month later, for preventive reasons after the mysterious illnesses and disappearances of other big fry.
He's eating some dried daphnia (crushed finely).Ah, I see! I'm not sure what could be stressing him then... Maybe the stress of Sushi attacking him yesterday?
Whenever my platy fry are big enough to go with the adults I release them and watch them like a hawk But they settle in straight away... Literally, a few minutes and they are alongside the adults. I always release them then feed them so they can go to the surface with the adults to eat and they kind of get to know eachother
Betta and gourami can clash. Esp sparklings, which are peaceful fish and will get attacked / bullied even by fish that are just greedy over food.Hey Lovelies!
Found one of my sparkling gouramis dead this morning.
In my bigger tank I noticed one of my platys has a torn tail. Hmmmm, I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the betta, though I've been spying on him and he seems ok.
Nice big water change and a right old clean on both tanks today.
Not much else to report Lovelies.......
