I do need some tall plants - they only had the long "stem" plants and I want something a bit different since they may have inadvertently contributed to my BGA problem in the other tank!
Will keep looking unless anyone can suggest something else?
EDIT: forgot to mention that the "wood" is artificial - meant to be mangrove root - think it's ceramic.

I meant the UK college (not university), where I'm doing my A-Levels before going on to uni

It's looking better with a few more pebbles to lessen the "pink" effect. Found a silk plant too that will be good for resting under or using the leaves as a hammock! lol

I'm paying my transhipper tonight. I'm doing express shipping so my fish will be in the tank next Friday! I won an auction for 110 plants (low, low price of $15!), so once I pay for those, I'll have my tank fully planted and then I can stop messing with it. For a while anyway.

Have been advised that for a single betta male that should be sufficient!
Can start looking for a nice male plakat - fancying a violet, HM, butterfly plakat, but I doubt he still has the one I've seen - I'll keep my fingers crossed he can get another!

I like the plakats, but I'm not much of a fan of the halfmoon plakats. I was going to get this beautiful b. imbellis, but I had to get the halfmoon. Who do you buy from? You can usually find some stunning ones on aquabid.

Have never used aquabid or any online retailer for that matter until RCA put me onto a guy who sells on Finzntails and showcases the fish on Youtube.
He hasn't got any of the ones I want at the moment but I'll keep looking.
All the LFSs round here seem to go in for veiltails and now I've got almost everything in the tank it's looking a lot less spacious than before so big fins are probably not a good idea.

This is the one I've had my eye on for about 6 weeks - of course, as you say it's not available now only as pre-order. Have sent a message to the guy there and am just awaiting a response from him.

They haven't got one exactly the same but there's a beautiful black plakat not sure if he's a HM or a delta but he's gorgeous!!! Have asked about terms so just waiting for the reply!
