The Indecisive Journal Of Trod's 5 Footer

Thanks guys, your thoughts are appreciated :flowers:

Well its been a long time, 3 months and 2 days since I got my tank and now finally I can call it a Lion fish tank :kana:

Yes you've got it I have my first lion fish :band: but of course you just know there has to be a story behind it!!!!!!

As you know I'm not at my best at the moment, so, Mr Trod has been on tank duty, he had a trip to the LFS on Thursday and asked if they had any Lions in, they did have 3, but they weren't on display as they didn't have a tank for them, Mr Trod was told to phone next day for more info. so Friday arrives and phone call is made, Yes, they say, they are now out, so off Mr Trod goes, with instructions to get some photos and info on them. When he got home he told me, they are Volitan, feeding on grass shrimps, OK 'show me the photos' I say whilst asking the price, £49 and £52 came the reply, once I finished choking, I said there is no way I'm paying that price, and slightly disappointed, looked at the photos, now while they weren't great pictures they didn't look Volitan to me, but wasn't feeling great and thought no more about them.

This morning I got up feeling slightly better and started to think about them again, or more importantly the price, then I'd remembered that one of the Lions is rarer than the others and as such commands a higher price, so out came the book, and Yes the Radiata, is definitely rarer, so now I'm thinking its worth the money :hey:
So I drag, or should I say Mr Trod drags me to LFS, and as soon as I see it, its  so without a second thought, I say buy it, not thinking about the price, young girl then cames over, looking pale and saying, 'are you sure you want it, I hate getting them out' (for goodness sake!!!!).

All bagged up, she then put the price on......................................................£23, OMG I couldn't believe it, quick I said to Mr Trod, we paid and made a hasty exit    So one HUGE bargain and here he is My first Pterois Radiata lion fish :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

Congrate Trod hope you are feeling better.

I can't wait to see s/he in the flesh - Trod, can you tell which sex it is or not? How do you tell/ can you tell?

holy thats cheap and buitiful oh i wish i had one

Thank you everyone, I am very chuffed with him/her (must find out which  )
He has settled in really well, I have fed some Ghost shrimp, they are swimming around the tank  , but he's not interested at the moment, The Radiata is the hardest lion fish to fed, but I will try to get him to eat some mussels and cockles in the future, but for now I'll stick to Ghost shrimp :good:

Here are some photos of him in the tank. Note the very nervous snail on the left
